Donald Trump arraignment oddsmakers offer bets on how much he will weigh at Georgia booking

As the deadline for Donald Trump to surrender to the Georgia booking approaches, online sportsbooks are going wild with proposals for bets on everything from his tie color to his body weight at booking.

A bookmaker’s site, Antigua-based BetOnline, on Friday offered an over/under 273.5 pounds for Trump’s weight following his surrender to authorities in Fulton County, the gambling news Instagram account reported. The juice.

Also commonly used to bet on the point total of a sporting event, Over/Unders allow the bettor to select whether they believe the outcome will be higher or lower than the amount selected by oddsmakers.

According to BetOnline employee David Mason77 percent of bettors so far have taken the over bet on Trump’s weight, prompting the sportsbook to raise the total by eight pounds.

That could irk the former president, who on Thursday lashed out at Fox News, accusing the network of using unflattering photos that make him look “big” and “orange” with his “chin pulled way back.”

Trump lashed out at Fox News on Thursday, accusing the network of using unflattering photos that make him look “big” and “orange” with his “chin pulled way back.”

“Why don’t Fox and Friends show all the polls where I beat Biden,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. ‘Also. they purposely show the absolute worst pictures of me, especially that big ‘orange’ picture with my chin pulled all the way back.’

A spokesman for Fox News was not immediately available for comment. The network is hosting the first GOP presidential primary debate this Wednesday, which Trump seemingly plans to skip.

Meanwhile, for punters looking to cash in on Trump’s weight, it’s worth noting that the current over/under on BetOnline is well above any weight recently reported for the former president.

When he was booked in Manhattan earlier this year on New York State charges, the 76-year-old Trump reportedly told officials he was six feet tall and weighed 240 pounds — though those measurements were self-reported and unverified.

In 2020, White House physician Sean P. Conley listed Trump as standing six feet tall and weighing 244 pounds on his annual physical.

That was one pound more than his previous physical release in February 2019, which showed his weight to be 243 pounds. In 2018, he weighed 239 pounds.

Other prop bets offered on BetOnline mention if Trump will smile in his Georgia mugshot.

Currently, the bookmaker is strongly in favor of no mugshot smile, with a 2-11 chance of the mugshot remaining strict.

As for the color of the tie, red is the favorite with a probability of 4-9, or an implied probability of 69 percent. ‘No draw’ is the second favorite option at 17-4 odds, while ‘green’ offers the longest odds at 25-1.

Another online sportsbook, Curaçao-based Bovada, is offering opportunities on whether Trump will wear a MAGA hat in his Georgia mugshot — an outcome listed Friday at odds of 25-1.

In the US, online betting laws vary by state and bettors are advised to check local regulations before placing bets.

Trump and his 18 co-defendants in the Georgia case have until noon on August 25 to surrender, after which they will each appear in court to hear the formal reading of the indictment and enter a plea.

Trump has pleaded not guilty in the New York case, in which he was accused of falsifying business records related to hush money payments ahead of the 2016 election.

He has also pleaded not guilty in two federal criminal cases, one stemming from classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago and another related to the alleged plan to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump is currently the heavy favorite to win the Republican presidential nomination, based on polls across the country and in early primary states.

The last RCP polling average ahead of the 2024 general election, President Joe Biden shows up narrowly ahead of Trump in a hypothetical matchup, with Biden polling at 44.4 percent to Trump’s 44.0 percent.
