Don Lemon shares good luck call from VP Kamala Harris as he prepares to marry partner Tim Malone…after DailyMail.com revealed he has become a controlling ‘bridezilla’

Don Lemon has shared a good luck call he received from Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of his wedding to partner Tim Malone.

The former CNN broadcaster and his fiancée were approached by Harris who wished them a “wedding full of love, laughter and good food.”

Lemon, 58, will marry Malone, 40, at Ralph Lauren’s Polo bar on Saturday, half a decade after they got engaged and on his partner’s birthday.

High-profile guests, including Lemon’s former CNN boss Jeff Zucker, Matt Lauer and Alec Baldwin, all arrived at the venue ahead of the ceremony.

DailyMail.com revealed how insiders had shared that Lemon had become a ‘bridezilla’ in the run-up to the wedding, micromanaging his guests in a desperate bid to have a ‘perfect’ big day.

The former CNN broadcaster and his fiancée were approached by Harris who wished them a “wedding full of love, laughter and good food.”

Things clearly started off well for Lemon, who decided to share the Will Harris call with his 749,000 followers.

“I’m calling to wish you all the best this weekend,” Harris can be heard saying to the couple. “I remember you and I talked about your relationship, I don’t know how many years ago.

“Sending you both my best wishes for this weekend and a wedding full of love, laughter and good food, that’s my wish for you from me and Doug,” she adds on behalf of the second gentleman.

A beaming Lemon then tells her that she and husband Doug Emhoff are “couple goals.”

The VP then gives some ‘unsolicited advice’ about marriage.

“You just have to enjoy laughing at yourself and each other,” Harris says. “Always end the day no matter how tired you are,” she adds before the video ends.

It looks like Lemon’s comments are more than flattery, with a photo showing how the couple once dressed up as the VP and her husband for Halloween.

Don and Tim’s intimate ceremony comes eight years after the couple first started dating after meeting at the Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York.

An insider shares details about their big day, which will be a ceremony with their nearest and dearest: ‘They will both wear matching suits with different lapels.

‘It won’t be a very religious ceremony, but they have written a vow that they will read to each other.

‘Tim joked with colleagues that he would use ChatGPT to write his.

‘Several of Tim’s colleagues from Douglas Elliman will be there.

“Their dogs are also expected to be part of the ceremony, just as they were part of their engagement.”

A photo shared to Lemon’s Instagram showed three identical harnesses and tuxedos for each of their dogs.

Boxes of pink and red flowers were delivered to the location on Saturday.

The wedding is finally going ahead after it was postponed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Don and Tim, who work in the real estate industry, made their relationship public when they rang it up with an on-air kiss during CNN’s live New Year’s Eve broadcast in 2018.

The following year, the duo got engaged when Tim proposed to Don on his own birthday with the help of their beloved dogs Barkley and Boomer.

The two puppies wore dog tags engraved with the question: “Daddy, will you marry daddy?”

After their engagement, Don, who came out as gay in his 2011 memoir Transparent, told CNN viewers, “I grew up thinking that I would never be able to talk about my relationships publicly, let alone ever could legally marry.

‘So for me this is doubly exciting and a little bit scary. I guess I should start thinking about children. Talk about a late bloomer.’

It was previously reported that Don’s firing from CNN in April 2023 caused a “feud” between the lovebirds.

The veteran presenter was sensationally sacked amid a furious controversy over his ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynistic’ behaviour.

Although Don’s axing has reportedly caused friction between him and his partner, the insider added that Tim remained with the former CNN anchor and “knows he’s not misogynistic.”

“(Tim) says (Don) is just gay with a very dry, harsh and sarcastic sense of humor,” they said at the time.

According to an insider, the ceremony will be an ‘intimate’ affair with only their loved ones

The duo has been engaged since 2019, but was forced to postpone their wedding due to the corona pandemic

Once the couple got over the shock of Don’s dismissal, they started to get “excited” about the prospect of having more time together.

“To be honest, they’re actually excited that Don gets to be home with their dogs now, since their dogs are their lives,” she added. ‘Tim said that Don can now play a househusband.

‘Tim says that Don didn’t like it there for a while and that he was working to the bone. This is a much-needed break for him.”

His resignation came a year after his longtime boss Jeff Zucker was fired for a consensual relationship with subordinate Allison Gollust

Zucker, a longtime champion of Lemon, was seen coming to the ceremony with Gollust.

Journalist Tamron Hall was also in attendance, wearing a chic black dress with a rose motif.

Fellow broadcaster Matt Lauer was also spotted walking to church hand-in-hand with girlfriend Shamin Abas.
