Don Jr. holds back tears as he watches his father’s triumphant entrance into the convention alongside Tiffany… but Melania waits for her big entrance
Donald Trump was welcomed to the Republican Party Convention by his family, his new running mate and a group of adoring GOP delegates who had nominated him as their presidential candidate for the third time in a row.
Former President Donald Trump Jr.’s eldest son appeared to have tears in his eyes as his father made his grand entrance into the convention hall at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Monday night.
Trump also appeared emotional as he met his family and close allies in the VIP box, wearing a bandage around his ear.
Don Jr. was joined by his partner Kimberly Guilfoyle, brother Eric Trump and half-sister Tiffany Trump to welcome their father and the 2024 Republican nominee to the convention site.
Former First Lady Melania Trump was absent from the guest box. She is expected to attend the GOP convention later this week.

Among those seated in the front row of Trump’s guest box were his recently announced running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), who has been mentioned as a vice presidential nominee, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and his wife, Kelly, and conservative media personality Tucker Carlson.
In the second row, behind the former president, are Don Jr. and Guilfoyle, as well as Tiffany and her husband Michael Boulos and Eric and his wife Lara, who co-chairs the Republican National Committee.
Singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood sang his iconic patriotic ballad God Bless the USA as Trump entered the arena, the same song the former president plays at the start of his signature rallies.
An example of this is the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, where Trump survived an assassination attempt by a 20-year-old assailant who opened fire at the event, killing one person and seriously wounding two others.
Trump’s right ear was hit by the bullet.

Eric said Monday that his father was “not deterred” by the assassination attempt and “understands” how Saturday’s attack could have ended differently.
Earlier that day, Don Jr. became irritated when an MSNBC reporter tried to talk to him on the convention floor.
When the reporter asked Trump’s son if his father would “put kids in cages” at the border if he were elected to another term, Don Jr. called him a “clown” and said, “Get out of here!”
He slammed the “MSDNC reporter” – referring to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) – saying of him, “A clown is an understatement.”
