Domino’s customers charged ‘massive’ fees for delivery orders

A woman has called out Domino’s ‘huge’ fees as the fast food giant charges customers almost double for having their pizzas delivered.

Like the cost of living To pick up pizzas, Australians are looking for ways to avoid extra charges. For many pizza lovers, this means picking up their pizza in the store.

Nay Mcrae was happy to spend a little extra for the convenience of having her pizzas delivered to her home, but quickly changed her mind when she realized how much more expensive it would be.

She shared a side-by-side comparison of prices at her local store in Kempsey on the NSW north coast.

“Has anyone noticed such a huge difference in pizza prices for delivery? This is our local Domino’s, not delivering anytime soon,” she wrote on Facebook.

The photo showed the total bill for three large pizzas increased from $35 to $65 with delivery, with a $10 surcharge appearing to be added to each item.

The online post was flooded with comments from unimpressed Australians, with many calling Domino’s a ‘rip off’ and ‘expensive cardboard’.

“I spoke to them about this and they said they now charge delivery fees for EVERY PIZZA… really questionable,” said one person.

‘I noticed this almost two years ago. I haven’t bought them since,” wrote another.

A third wrote: ‘Oh my god that’s crazy! We also find vouchers on Frugal Feeds, which often give us a 40 percent discount on the collection price.’

It is still unclear when the price change took effect.

A Domino’s spokesperson said customers are paying more for the convenience of having hot pizza delivered to their home.
