Dominik Szoboszlai ignored potential problems in the Liverpool dressing room before his arrival last summer.
The 23-year-old has quickly established himself as a vital cog in Jurgen Klopp’s resurgent Reds team. He started all ten Premier League games and one more in the League Cup following his £60 million move from RB Leipzig.
The Anfield club has recorded seven league wins and three Europa League victories to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. This is a start to the season that has many wondering how far this new team can go.
But amid the recent good atmosphere, Hungary’s captain has revealed issues that may have affected the team in the past.
“Everyone wants to be in the starting line-up, that’s normal and that’s how it should be, the goal of every team,” he told journalist Ben Bocsak in an interview with Hungarian podcast Premier Leak.

After a summer of turmoil, the Reds appear to have formed a new group that will be ready to challenge for major honors in the years to come.
‘Who is satisfied with sitting on the couch? I’ll be honest, there are a few. Actually, before I came here, there were some (near Liverpool).
“I won’t name names, but I’ve heard of them.” He continued: “Personally, I want to play every match, even if I’m a little tired.
‘Whatever, whether it’s the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League, Premier League, national team, whatever.’
The battle for a starting spot in Klopp’s midfield is fierce, with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones alongside the Hungarian and Alexis Mac Allister vying for a spot in the middle of the park.
Veteran Thiago Alcantara and youngster Stefan Bajcetic will also add to the numbers as they return from long-term injuries.
Liverpool take on Premier League newcomers Luton at Kenilworth Road on Sunday with their budding star, who despite his young age, is fast approaching 250 senior appearances at club level.
“I’m in good shape when I’m constantly needed,” he added. ‘I will be in the best condition if I can play on Thursday and Sunday.
‘Because then there is no training, recovery, concentration, competition, recovery, competition, and this goes on and on, and this is perfect for me.’
