Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard has hinted at the possibility of demanding the arrest of her political rivals during a lengthy social media tirade – as her landlord revealed frustrations over their ongoing eviction battle.
Henyard shared a nearly 90-minute live video on Facebook on Tuesday. After a Thornton Township meeting was canceled due to lack of attendance, Henyard, who also heads the township, defended himself against growing criticism.
The embattled mayor made accusations about her management of local affairs and finances, while labeling her opponents as corrupt.
“I will be seeking arrests for the individuals involved,” she said in a Facebook live. ‘I’ll press charges. It’s a lot. And that’s just what I’m telling you, because all this finger pointing at Tiffany – or lying on me – I’m over it. Now it’s time for me to speak. The truth speaks.’

While Henyard did not specify which charges she planned to pursue, she accused her enemies of being driven by a “power and money grab,” according to WGN 9.
She also promised to reveal the “full truth” about the controversies surrounding her at a later date.
The meeting was abandoned after only one Thornton trustee showed up.
Henyard has clashed with Dolton administrators over meeting locations, prompting her to file a lawsuit that was ultimately unsuccessful. NBC Chicago reported.
Meanwhile, Henyard is facing a possible eviction as her landlord, Genetta Hull, claims that Henyard and her boyfriend have not paid full rent since August.
Hull, who had previously rented her property to the mayor, says Fox 32 that their relationship deteriorated in 2021 when Henyard pressured her to move into the house.
The frustrated landlord raised the rent by $200 over the summer due to a property tax increase, bringing it to $2,400 a month.
Henyard’s friend, Kamal Woods, claimed they couldn’t afford the increase.
Hull claimed they have not paid the rent in full since August, and did not make any payments in September. She further accused the “dictator” mayor of changing the locks and garage code to prevent her from gaining access to the property.
Hull filed an eviction lawsuit in Cook County Court in September but was unable to serve the couple. They are said to owe more than $3,300 in rent payments on their home in the 14600 block of South Harvard.
Henyard’s lawyer has refuted the claims of unpaid rent, calling them false.

This latest controversy follows an $85,000 party that Mayor Tiffany Henyard threw for her city earlier this month, despite being cut off from state funds due to financial mismanagement. The event cost approximately $50,000 in taxpayer money for performances and another $35,000 for activities, equipment and staff.
In August, the Illinois State Comptroller cut off funding to Dolton after Henyard failed to file financial reports that accounted for the use of approximately $135,000. Comptroller Susana Mendoza has since threatened to fine the city $78,600 if the reports are not provided.
Henyard, who calls herself the “super mayor” and is seeking re-election, is also under federal investigation after subpoenas issued earlier this year to Dolton, Thornton Township and individuals associated with her, reports show.
Despite these mounting allegations, Henyard continues to deny any wrongdoing.
