Dolphins winger Robert Jennings has made one of the most bizarre blunders in football history during his side’s smash comeback victory over the Titans.
Wayne Bennett’s side scrambled back to beat the Gold Coast in an extraordinary 28-26 win at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.
The Dolphins looked ordinary early in the game, trailing 26-0 after just 26 minutes – before turning the tables and racking up five unanswered tries.
However, the comeback was almost spoiled by Jennings, who wasted two excellent scoring opportunities – the first was a great roar.
With the Dolphins trailing 26-18, Jennings lost his footing and bizarrely fell more than yards short of the Titans’ tryline with no defenders around.

Instead of getting up or crawling forward to score, Jennings waited for a tackle.
He then got up to play the ball, not realizing it was a handoff to the Titans.
Footy fans couldn’t understand what was happening, and neither could the commentary team.
‘What happened? What happened to Jennings. That was the switch!’ exclaimed commentator Warren Smith.
‘I’ve never seen anything like it. He stumbled and did not get up to run. robert! I can’t imagine what he was thinking.’
“That will be the most talked about match over the course of the weekend.
‘He can’t believe it. (Kodi) Nikorima explodes, his teammates explode.”
Steve Roach said, “Why didn’t he get up and keep going over there?”

Dolphins skipper Jesse Bromwich (pictured with coach Wayne Bennett) admitted how strange the incident was after the game
Jennings was almost back in minutes later, but was ruled to have lost the ball over the line.
However, he made up for the mistakes by scoring a brilliant one-hander in the corner and helping his side to a thrilling comeback.
Dolphin support Jarrod Wallace said he was as shocked as everyone else when Jennings failed to score.
‘I have to go back and check. Did he fall asleep or something?’ Wallace said.
‘I said what’s going on? He said, “I thought it was a double move.” No one was within 20 feet of you, you can get up and keep running.
“He iced it with that last one when we needed him and that was all that mattered.”

‘I’ve never seen anything like it,’ said Bromwich.
“That was a brain explosion.”
The Dolphins stunning win keeps the side in the top eight as they travel to Wagga Wagga to face the Canberra Raiders next week.
