Last month, the philanthropist and entrepreneur admitted to her lost weight with the help of diabetes drugs.
A week after her admission, Catania’s doctor, Rocio Salas-Whalen, defended her decision to prescribe Mounjaro, a drug similar to Ozempic, during an interview with Today.
“Anytime we see someone who we don’t think they need the medication, unless you’re their doctor, you don’t know their medical history,” she said.
Salas-Whalen went on to state that the general public should not rush to provide answers when a person admits to taking the medication, which is widely touted as an easy way to lose weight in a short period of time.
“Nobody can assume just by looking at someone that they don’t need it or they’re doing it for the wrong reasons,” she said.
Catania discussed the use of the weight-loss drug Mounjaro on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, 54.
When Cohen asked Catania if she was taking the drugs, she replied, “Which housewife doesn’t take Ozempic?”

After the episode aired, viewers flocked to social media to label Catania’s latest interview as “unhealthy and triggering.
“

Another asked, “Wait, isn’t there a shortage of Ozempic for diabetic patients?” And Dolores just casually admitted she’s on it with a big smile on her face?’
A third commented that it was “a bit confused that Dolores and the rest of the #RHONJ cast” jumped on the Ozempic bandwagon so quickly as their castmate Jackie [Goldschneider] recovering from an eating disorder.’
