Dolly Parton gave the new Australian movie inspired by her music the big seal of approval: “We’re on board, we’ll support her”

Dolly Parton gave her stamp of approval to seriously redan Australian film inspired in part by his art.

Filmmaker and actress Krew Boylan, 40, said it didn’t take much effort to persuade the legendary musician, 76, that her conceived idea would be a fitting tribute.

In addition to playing the title role in the film, Boylan wrote the script, which he was responsible for submitting to the music legend’s manager, Danny Nozell, via his co-star Rose Byrne.

The film is based on Red (Krew Boylan), an energetic redhead who says goodbye to her real estate career and becomes a full-time Dolly Parton impersonator.

Byrne plays an Elvis impersonator, while her husband, Bobby Cannavale, takes on the role of a Kenny Rogers impersonator who falls for Red.

Boylan produced the film with Byrne through his production company, Dollhouse Pictures.

Byrne drove all over the United States to personally deliver the script to Nozell and make sure Parton was happy with the film.

“We have five cents, this is a love letter to Dolly, this is our first project as Dollhouse Pictures, this is a sentence, can you read it and we can start talking about it?” she asked.

Boylan produced the film with Byrne through his production company, Dollhouse Pictures.

“Because of his word and generosity, he read it … and Dolly read it twice that night and we got a phone call saying ‘yeah we’re on board, we’re going to support you, we’re going to help, let us know what else we can do,'” Boylan said.

Shortly after, the Australian filmmaker met and greeted the Jolene hitmaker.

Their close encounter was a success as the legendary singer took her hands and jumped with excitement.
