Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, Belinda Carlisle and Debbie Harry have teamed up for the song Gonna Be You from the movie 80 For Brady
Dolly Parton has joined forces with Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, Belinda Carlisle and Debbie Harry to form the ultimate girl group.
The legendary stars have teamed up to record Diane Warren’s song Gonna Be You for a new film titled 80 for Brady set for release on February 3.
The songwriter revealed that she wanted to bring together some of the most iconic stars of the 1980s to sing about friendship.

Diane said of the collaboration: “When I wrote Gonna Be You for 80 For Brady, I wanted to write a song that celebrated the deep friendship of these women.
“Since 80 was in the title, I had a crazy idea, why not have some of the most iconic singers of the 80s, who are still amazing and always will be, sing it all?” she added.
She went on to explain that every singer she approached said yes to the project, and she came out with an all-star lineup.
Diane added: ‘Everyone I reached out to said yes and was just as excited as I was! I am honored to have Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Debbie Harry on this song! Gonna Be You is that song you want to sing with all your good friends!’
Mastermind: Diane wrote the song to celebrate the deep friendship between the women in the film, which inspired her to bring these stars together to sing it.

After news of the project broke, Belinda admitted that she had been struggling to keep such a big secret under wraps.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: ‘What an honor to sing with @dollyparton @cyndilauper @gloriaestefan and DEBBIE HARRY! This secret has been hard to keep.
Gonna Be You opens on January 20, while 80 for Brady, starring Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field, hits theaters on February 3.
The movie follows four best friends who embark on a road trip to watch Tom Brady and the New England Patriots compete in the Super Bowl.

Dolly recently collaborated with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus for Miley’s New Year’s Eve party.
The pair sang several hits together and even had a costume change mid-show. Dolly started out in a black jumpsuit with sheer fabric that covered her arms and down the sides of her legs.
Miley wore a skintight black dress that ended high on her thighs. After the change, Dolly wore a white dress and Miley wore a black one.
Together they sang I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, Wrecking Ball and I Will Always Love You.
