But the 29-year-old singer had fans doing a double take when she uploaded a new selfie to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
Doja – born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – looked unrecognizable as she looked makeup-free and wore a blonde bob wig.
She also wore brown metal-rimmed glasses and a white blouse or silk pajama top.
The Kiss Me More hitmaker smiled at the photo, which was taken from the chest up.
Fans were stunned by Doja’s transformation, with one joking that she had a “sexy HR vibe.”

Many compared her new, toned-down appearance to that of a “real estate agent” or “librarian.”
Others teased her for looking like a “Karen,” which is slang for an “titled” American white woman, or an alternate universe version of VP Kamala Harris.
Doja also received a lot of praise for showing off her “natural beauty” on social media.
“This feels like the most natural version of Doja Cat, like what she might look like as an average person, which really makes her feel more relatable and HUMAN,” an X user commented.
Since Doja uploaded the selfie without a caption, this left several fans wondering if the photo was yet another hint at her next musical era.
The singer last released a studio alum, titled Scarlet, in September 2023.

On November 12, she shared a photo dump that prominently showed off the fresh new ink on her foot.

Doja offered no further perspective on the meaning of the tattoo, simply captioning it to her more than 24 million followers: “red 5.
Even her biggest fans didn’t know what the meaning of the tattoo was, as one wrote, “Okay, but announce that one doja.”
Another chose to ignore everything posted in the gallery as they wrote, “Hey, how are you today?”
Finally, another fan made a light-hearted comment about the photos, but apparently had more questions than answers when they said, “toes?”
The gallery started with an extreme close-up of her face as she wore a big smile.
Some wondered if “red” could possibly be the name of her fifth full-length studio album or even a new single.

However, her behavior on social media the day before also reinforced that new music may be on the way.
Doja took to X that Monday to post a track list, according to Billboard.
According to screenshots on social media, the 13 possible song titles appeared to be: Break My Heart, Take Me Dancing, Ain’t News, Anything, Slow Burn, Turn The Lights On and Appreciation.
After deleting the tracklist, the Los Angeles native sent out another series of cryptic tweets, including Ma Vie Mi Vida Mia Vita and 5 Love Languages, as she noted: “The songs are in no particular order. Starring my favorites.’
The message apparently referenced song titles that featured in the original deleted message, including: Cards, Acts Of Service, Make It Up, Did I Lie and Crack.
