Doja Cat Confirms Her Upcoming Fourth Studio Album Will Be Entirely Rap Tracks: ‘Pop Isn’t Exciting For Me Anymore’
Doja Cat announced that her forthcoming fourth album would consist entirely of rap music in several Tweets shared on Saturday.
The 27-year-old rapper shared an image of three songs in progress, titled Wet Vagina, Balut and Agora Hills, and spoke to several of her fans who were looking for more information about her upcoming project.
The artist, who recently shared a photo of her natural skin texture, released her most recent album in 2021, titled Planet Her.
One of Doja Cat’s tweets simply read “no more pop,” prompting her fans to inquire about the contents of her third record.
The Say So singer later confirmed in another tweet that the upcoming album would be “rap only.”

The Grammy-winning artist then said she felt she had outgrown the pop genre.
She wrote in another tweet, “Pop isn’t exciting to me anymore. I don’t want to make it.’
Doja Cat also talked about her past adventures in rap and wrote that she was trying to progress as a recording artist.
“I also agree with everyone who said that most of my rap verses are mediocre and hackneyed. I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything. I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing you guys say I can’t so I will,” she wrote.
The singer’s first album entitled Amala was released to the public in March 2018.
The artist then released Hot Pink in 2019, and the record met with great success.
The album featured the hit single Say So, and the project as a whole peaked at No. 9 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Doja Cat’s third record, Planet Her, debuted in June 2021 to both critical and commercial success.

The artist talked about her rapping skills during an interview with Ellewhere she said she had always considered herself a rapper.
“I rapped from the beginning, and I couldn’t even sing very well in the beginning — I got a lot better,” she said.
The hitmaker also stated that she agreed that listeners were not fans of her rapping style.
“I use my voice as a tool to create these worlds, and it’s okay if people think I can’t rap,” she said.
