Dogs kill baby boy inside New York home. Police are investigating what happened before the attack
ROCHESTER, NY — Two dogs killed a 3-month-old baby in a Rochester home over the weekend, police said Tuesday.
On Saturday afternoon, officers responded to a 911 call reporting that dogs had attacked a baby, police said in a press release.
“Respondents found a 3-month-old boy suffering from serious bodily injuries,” the release said. He was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died.
Animal control officers removed two pit bull-type dogs from the home after they allegedly attacked the baby, police said.
Police are working with Child Protective Services and the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the circumstances that led to the child’s death. No further details were released.
No charges were immediately filed.
