Brave dog owner is maimed trying to save his beloved Labrador from a vicious attack

A brave dog owner has suffered serious bite injuries and his Labrador is lucky to be alive after two other dogs being walked by a woman attacked them.
Joe Chan, 40, was walking his family pet Momo on Lakeview Avenue in Rowville, Melbourne’s east, at around 11pm when two dogs walking ahead with a woman bumped into each other. turned and attacked.
They pounced on Momo, who suffered six bites in the ordeal.
Chan was so seriously injured that he had to spend two nights in the hospital.

“I’m afraid he’ll die, he’s my family,” Chan said. 9News.
‘That dog tried to attack my dog (in the neck), so my dog may die.’
Mr. Chan then put his own body on the line, ripping off one of Momo’s dogs jaws, before it turned to attack him.
“I tried to use my hand just to push (Momo) away from her mouth,” he said.
They dragged him to the ground and bit him seven times.
He was left asking for help before the neighbors came to his aid, calling an ambulance for him.
Mr Chan claims the woman collapsed against a wall during the ordeal, before getting up and walking away, all without saying a word to him.

He waited two hours for an ambulance, then spent two nights in the hospital.
Momo survived the ordeal, but was left with the physical and mental scars of the incident.
Mr. Chan is not asking for the animals to be euthanized, but he does want the woman to apologize to him for the incident.
“I hope that this woman can come out and apologize,” he said.
The woman (pictured) walked away after the incident without saying anything, Chan said.
