Dog has amazing escape when it tumbles 70 feet off cliff before landing on ledge where it is spotted by Coastguard and winched to safety

A dog made an amazing escape after falling 70 feet off a cliff and landing on a ledge.
The pet was walking on a lead but broke away from its owner during a walk on Christmas Day in Pinhay Bay, East Devon.
The owner looked on in shock as it went over the edge at Rousdon Landslip.
They raised the alarm and the dog was spotted on the edge by Lyme Regis Lifeboat.
Coastguard crews from Beer and Lyme Regis brought the dog to safety after the incident at 1.30pm on Monday.

The Beer Coastguard crew set up a winch to bring the dog back to the top of the cliff after he was spotted from the water by a rescue boat crew
A rope technician was lowered from the edge of the cliff to retrieve the dog from a ledge far below
They had carried their rope gear almost half a mile to the remote spot where the dog fell.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the Beer Coastguard Rescue Team said: 'The Beer and Lyme Regis Coastguard teams, along with the Lyme Rescue Boat, were tasked to tackle a dog that was 20 meters over a cliff in Rousdon fallen.
'Lyme Rescue located the dog on the cliff and provided instructions on where the rope rescue teams could set up their equipment so that a rope technician could be lowered over the cliff and rescue the dog which was on a lead but broke away from the owner.
'The equipment had to be carried 600 meters from the vehicle to the rescue location.
'A successful rescue and the dog was reunited with its owner.'
The rescue received praise from the public after volunteers gave up their Christmas Day to help.
One person said: 'Wonderful people, hope you enjoyed the rest of Christmas.'
Another wrote: 'Everyone from their warm home on that one special day, for a dog… well done, bigger than me.'
Someone else added; 'Well done, you are all stars.'
