If you are what you eat, our latest poll suggests you vote what you drink. Or something like that.

The country’s polarization has not only driven a wedge into friendships and families, but even extends to a drinking divide between voters and their favorite drink.

According to JL Partners/DailyMail.com, supporters of teetotal Donald Trump and wine-and-ice-cream-loving Kamala Harris are going in very different directions when it comes to the drink of choice.

And it may not be what you think.

Voters who say their favorite drink is rosé wine are overwhelmingly supporters of Trump, a candidate whose rallies are often packed with the kind of bikers and burly farmers you’d think would eye a pink drink with suspicion.

JL Partners surveyed 1,000 likely voters for their opinions on the two presidential candidates. And the results showed how Harris supporters like gin, while Trump supporters like rosé wine

It’s not even close. While 33 percent of rosé drinkers say they will vote for Harris, as many as 55 percent plan to vote for Trump.

Drinkers of dark drinks – rum and whiskey – also resolutely choose the Republican candidate.

Beer drinkers almost split down the middle.

But voters who reach for red wine first are likely Harris supporters.

And the gap between the two groups of voters widens as the drinks become lighter in color.

So vodka and white wine are overwhelmingly the choice of people who say they plan to vote for Harris. (The vice president himself has been spotted in Washington sipping a glass of white wine with ice on top.)

But it’s the gin drinkers who are moving into single cat lady territory, with the most decisive support for Harris.

With 65 percent saying they will vote for Harris, compared to 33 percent for the former president, a drink once known as “mother’s ruin” could be nicknamed “Trump’s ruin.”

The results come from a national online survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted September 13-15.

Trump voters may be known for their tough stance on the border, a tough approach to crime and a firm belief in traditional values. But they like a little rosé wine,” said James Johnson, co-founder of JL Partners.

‘Our poll reveals the personal preferences of the voters of 2024. If only rosé drinkers could vote, Trump would win the biggest landslide since Nixon.

‘But if only those who liked white wine – or a gin – could vote, Harris would almost turn the country completely blue.

“Perhaps what this tells us most about politics today is that beneath every voter stereotype there is a surprise.”

The results of a parallel poll, which included phone calls and in-app questions, showed Harris ahead of Trump in the overall rankings for the first time.

Harris is the choice of 43 percent of voters – up two points since the last poll on August 13 – while Trump is favored by 42 percent, down two points.
