Doctor sexually assaulted a woman by depositing his own SEMEN into multiple cups of coffee

A doctor sexually assaulted a woman by depositing his semen in cups of coffee he made for her several times, a court has heard.

Dr. Nicholas John Chapman, 55, is on trial on two charges of attempting to induce a woman aged 16 or over to engage in sexual activity without her consent.

Gloucester Crown Court heard the victim, whose name cannot be released for legal reasons, was shocked after discovering a ‘gloopy’ substance at the bottom of her cup when she drank a hot drink given to her by the defendant .

After finding suspicious “specimens,” she reported him to the police, and a lab test later confirmed the substance was “sperm related to the doctor.”

The GP was arrested when he showed up for work and suspended when the allegations came to light.

Prosecutor Richard Posner opened up the case, saying that in September 2021, the alleged victim became “concerned that there might be something amiss with the hot drinks” the defendant was making for her.

He added: “(She) had good reason to be suspicious because there was a substance in her coffee that was not there at all. The defendant’s semen had been added to the drinks he allegedly made for her.

“By adding semen to coffee, he had been trying to get her involved in some form of sexual activity — by making her ingest his semen.”

The prosecution said the alleged victim began noticing something odd about her coffee in late 2020, but had no idea what it was for nearly a year.

Mr Posner added: ‘She took a sip of her drink and spat it out in the sink.. It didn’t taste right. It tasted salty. She dumped the rest into the sink and saw a thick, bulging substance disappear into the sink.

“She just knew it was something that shouldn’t have been there. She didn’t think for a second it could be sperm.’

The court heard she didn’t give it much thought, but told others that her drink tasted strange and would tip other drinks he made for her during that time.

She believes it happened another six or seven times, but her suspicions arose in September 2021, when she noticed a plastic copy in his possession that was “not to be found there.”

The woman shared her concerns and “realized the reality” of what had happened, Mr. Posner told the court.

He said she then waited for another drink to be made for her the following week and saw in his pocket what looked like one of his specimen bottles.

Mr Posner said: ‘This immediately aroused suspicion. She picked up the coffee and poured it into a sink and saw a slimy trail.

“Some of the substance was recovered and placed in specimen jars and photographs were taken of the convex substance at the bottom of the mug.”

The victim later told partner what happened, saying it happened six or seven times. She also showed him pictures of a “spherical substance that looked like semen” at the bottom of the cup.

Samples were put in the freezer and she later gave them to the police.

Analysis of the coffee brewed on September 13, 2021 yielded semen and DNA for a match with the defendant.

He was arrested by police at his practice when he arrived at work and said during the interview that he was “shocked” and denied putting semen in her coffee.

Chapman later claimed that due to a condition, since he was a teenager, he has released semen while defecating and that there may have been some “residue” left on his hands.

Mr Posner said the defendant accepted that he had performed a ‘sexual act in the toilet’ but ‘did not satisfy himself sexually over the victim and that he may not have washed his hands’.

But he added: “The prosecution is that he had no reasonable explanation for his semen in her drinks.”

The two allegations are that on September 13, 2021 and between September 12, 2020 and September 12, 2021, he attempted to engage in unauthorized sexual activity by making her swallow his semen.

Defense, attorney Virginia Cornwall. told the court that her defendant had no sexual interest in the victim.

She added: “At no time did he behave inappropriately or make her coffee exclusively.

“He made no coffee on September 13 and denies ever putting anything in her coffee and doesn’t know who did.

“He didn’t mess with her coffee — and can only assume someone else did as a joke.

“While a coffee sample collected from Sept. 13 contained his biological fluid, he has an underlying medical condition in which semen will be released upon opening his intestines.”

She said the semen was a “by-product of stool and not sexual in nature.”

Dr. Chapman was born in South Africa, where he graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Cape Town in 1993.

The process continues.
