Do you go ‘directly to the comments’ on MailOnline? Well, we made them even better! Try out the new system and publish more of your thoughts TODAY, much faster

MailOnline is pleased to announce an exciting innovation that will make our famous reader comments section even better.

As one of the world’s favorite news websites, we’ve always been proud of our Reader Comments section, and we’re incredibly grateful that so many readers come to our site every day to share their thoughts and opinions on the world’s biggest stories.

Today we’re introducing a new commenting system that will transform the way our readers interact with our articles, journalists and each other – making it faster and easier to share your thoughts on the stories that are top of the agenda.

We also listened to your feedback. We know that our commenting system makes it too difficult for readers to share their opinions. You want your comments to appear faster and you want transparency about the moderation process. And we know that many people come back to our site day after day to see what our readers have to say.

Last week we ran a hugely successful reader comments Q&A with the inimitable Peter Hitchens – and we even have a brilliant new podcast dedicated to our reader comments: Straight to the comments.

However, we have also listened to your feedback. We know that our commenting system makes it too difficult for readers to share their opinions. You want your comments to appear faster and you want transparency about the moderation process.

With that in mind, we have long worked with our partners at OpenWeb to improve our system.

The new platform has been tested across a number of our channels for much of the last year – and we’re excited to roll it out across the website today.

The new OpenWeb system allows us to publish more of your comments, and much faster.

You will receive an email when your comment is published and when your comment receives upvotes or downvotes. We’ll also let you know if anyone responds.

We appreciate that this is a big change to one of the most popular parts of the website, and that – as always – you will have big opinions to share.

We welcome all your feedback and ask you to submit your views here feedback form.

In the meantime: please comment! We’re sure you’ll love this new, improved experience.
