On Saturday, October 12, the Scottish musician’s family announced that he had tragically passed away that morning in Ibiza, Spain.

His loved ones took his Instagram account to share the news, along with a photo of the record producer and a heartbreaking message detailing his death.

And earlier this summer, he posted a sweet Instagram album with his family as they traveled through his native Scotland, saying his “soul was content.”

He posed with his partner Kate and two children as they explored the area and enjoyed delicious food.

In his post he wrote the caption: ‘What a bad weekend, spent it all with my family, some museums/Scottish sights and then went to visit Loch Lomond where my mum’s ashes were laid.

‘Then we topped it all off with a SEEEEERIOUS BBQ. My soul is satisfied and then some.”

A statement announcing his death on Saturday read: ‘Statement from the family of Jack Revill (Jackmaster): It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster. Jack tragically died in Ibiza on the morning of October 12, following complications from an accidental head injury.

“His family – Kate, Sean and Johnny – are heartbroken. While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they cope with the immense grief of this devastating loss.”

The family asked for privacy as they navigate this difficult time, but they are comforted knowing that Revill’s legacy lives on through his music.

The caption continued: ‘Jack’s passion for music and his relentless drive to push creative boundaries through his work at the Numbers label and Rubadub Records in Glasgow, including discovering countless innovative artists, made him a much-loved and pioneering figure in the electronic music community, both in front and behind the scenes.

‘His talent for mixing genres and delivering exciting DJ sets and productions has earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and fans around the world. His legacy will continue to inspire and his impact on the world of dance music will remain indelible.”

Fans were devastated by the DJ’s death and flooded his comments with messages of love and support for his surviving family members.

‘RIP Jack!! You always have a kind word, a smile and a minty tune. You will be missed,” one person wrote.

Another heartbroken follower said: ‘I can’t believe this. Heart broken. Thanks for all the great memories and inspiration Jack. This is just horrible, horrible, horrible.”

The native of Glasgow, Scotland, fell in love with music at the age of 14 when he started working at Rubadub, a local record store.

‘I never had to buy records again. So that was a clear advantage [of the job]Revill told Resident Advisor in a 2012 interview.

He gushed to the outlet at the time, “It was just little things, like when promos came in and you had to deal with it the first time.

At the age of 17, Revill wanted to become a DJ after gaining popularity in Glasgow clubs.

In his more than two decades in the music industry, the decorated producer has earned the Breakthrough DJ Award at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards in 2010. He was also known for his residency at BBC Radio in 2014.

Revill documented his final performance via Instagram on September 27.
