DIY SOS star Mark Millar left ‘screaming and running around like a nutter’ after jellyfish sting
“It felt like an electric shock!” DIY SOS star Mark Millar left ‘screaming and running around like an idiot’ after being stung by a jellyfish in Ibiza
DIY SOS star Mark Millar said he was ‘screaming and running around like crazy’ after being stung by a jellyfish while on holiday to Ibiza.
The television personality and carpenter likened the sting to an “electric shock” as he urged his followers to “swim safely.”
Mark shared a photo on Instagram on Tuesday showing off the nasty red mark on his chest and arm.
Alongside the update, he explained: ‘Swimming in Ibiza is great, but watch out for this jellyfish, there are unusually many of them at the moment.
“If you get stung, use a credit card to scrape off the stinger and pour white vinegar on it, and DO NOT jump in the shower.”

Mark continued, “The sting is like an electric shock and you will feel nauseous and disoriented for a few hours.
“It also helps with the pain when you run around the beach screaming and screaming like crazy. Swim safely,” he joked.
The TV personality is currently hosting the Channel 5 show Build Your Dream Home In The Country after his lengthy stint with DIY SOS.
In February on the show, a couple revealed how they spent £280,000 to transform an ‘ugly’ red brick 1950s Hampshire house into a massive four-bedroom home fitted with sleek furnishings and rustic decor .
Paul and Leigh – both ex-police officers who met at a crime scene – left behind their busy lives in Southampton and moved to an idyllic village near the South Downs National Park.
The couple, who are in their 50s, appeared on the show, which followed their project as they doubled the size of their childhood home with a two-story extension.
While their initial forecast for the project was up to six months after leaving for work in September 2021, delays in materials due to Brexit and the pandemic, as well as rising costs, meant the house wasn’t finished until May 2022 and was running £ 50,000 over budget.
But once construction was complete, presenter Mark, who followed the construction from start to finish, was full of praise for the beautiful building, praising the beautiful wood-clad exterior and the unrecognizable transformation of the interior.

Mark hailed their house purchase as a “really good investment” and praised their vision of turning the “ugly duckling” house into a home through a “massive contemporary makeover.”
However, after three weeks, £50,000 – a quarter of their budget – had already been eaten up, and the pair were feeling the stress of taking on such a huge project.
Fortunately, it all worked out in the end and Mark marveled at the result, praising their vision and saying it was worth the wait.
The ex-police officers admit they ‘probably’ went £40-50,000 over budget, but ‘wouldn’t change anything’.
