A Colorado police officer has been fired after he was caught on camera punching a woman in the face while she was handcuffed.
Former Loveland officer Russell Maranto, 28, punched Angelia Hall, 59, in the mouth while being held in a hospital emergency room.
In the footage, Hall can be heard growing increasingly frustrated and angry as she sits in an examination chair cursing and yelling at the officers and nurses present.
But when she spat at Maranto, he immediately responded by punching her.
Another officer in the room intervened and pulled Maranto away from Hall.

After the blow, another cop intervened and Maranto was seen pushing back
After the blow, Maranto was seen talking to other officers outside the investigation room
After the blow, Hall demands to see video of what just happened – now even more upset as she was powerless to fight back with her hands tied behind her back.
Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran released a statement on Friday explaining why he fired the officer, citing the unnecessary use of force.
“I share this video in the spirit of transparency and with a commitment to hold both my team and citizens who break the law accountable for their actions,” Doran said.
The chief urged the public to watch the full 90-minute body camera footage of the incident, emphasizing the importance of watching the episode in its entirety.
Officers had initially responded to reports of Hall wandering in and out of traffic, displaying confused and incoherent behavior.
Officers placed her in protective custody and took her to a local hospital for examination

The incident was investigated by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, but so far the district attorney’s office has not filed any criminal charges against Maranto.
The chief took swift action against Maranto, who was fired from the Loveland Police Department three days after the May 20 incident.
