A New York City woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger who threw a belt around her neck and dragged her unconscious body behind a parked car.
The horrific attack occurred on May 1 as the 45-year-old victim passed through the South Bronx.
New York Police confirmed to DailyMail.com that the woman was walking near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue around 3 a.m. when an unknown man crept up behind her.
The man placed a belt around the victim’s neck, rendering her unconscious, before sexually assaulting her, the NYPD said.
Surveillance video reviewed by DailyMail.com shows the woman walking in front of her attacker, who had a white cloth tied around the lower half of his face.

The man drags her across the sidewalk and between two parked cars. He looks around before bending over the woman’s body, which is hidden from view.
No arrest has been made in the case and an investigation by the NYPD Special Victims Unit is ongoing.
Just last month, a man lurked in a Manhattan apartment building before assaulting a 23-year-old woman as she returned home.
That man, who has yet to be identified, placed the victim in a chokehold before forcing her into the hallway. He allegedly threatened to shoot her if she screamed.
Also last month, a Bronx man entered a woman’s home and punched her in the face several times before sexually assaulting her.
He was identified as 31-year-old Malik Crocker. Jail records show he has not been arrested.
NYPD data shows that as of May 5, 511 rapes were reported citywide. The vast majority took place in the Bronx.
However, the number of rapes in the municipality has fallen this year, with 141 reports through May 5, compared to 148 in the same period in 2023.
