Although Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, finding accommodations can do the exact opposite for visitors.

“After visiting over 25 hotels in Anaheim, these are the three I would actually return to,” she said.

All of Nuzzo’s recommendations are highly rated by other Disney and Anaheim enthusiasts, all with 4.5-star ratings on TripAdvisor.

Hotel Indigo, an ING hotel, came in at number three.

Nuzzo noted that the hotel costs less than $200 per night and is just a 12-minute walk from Disneyland.

“Indigo just has a lot to offer, including Wi-Fi and nightly parking,” she said. “That’s something very few hotels in the area do.”

Nuzzo called the stay “great value for money overall,” from “the friendly staff” to the “fun, colorful room design.”

“Indigo isn’t trying to be a luxury hotel, it’s just trying to provide the right level of comfort for your stay at Disneyland.”

Hotel Lulu

Number two was Hotel Lulu, which she noted her first experience wasn’t the best, but things have since gone up a notch.

Noting the affordability, Nuzzi said she has consistently seen rooms for $180 per night, with the average rating on TripAdvisor being 4.5 stars.

The hotel is also a 13-minute walk from Disneyland, according to Google Maps.

“So one of my first experiences here was being sent to a room that hadn’t been cleaned yet,” she admitted.

Fortunately, the hotel has redeemed itself and is now one of Nuzzi’s favorites in Anaheim.

“The atmosphere of the hotel, the grounds and the pool here are all great,” she said, adding that the rooms are “light, spacious and very comfortable” and she likes the little touches such as a welcome drink on arrival.

TripAdvisor ranked Hotel Lulu 31 out of 125 hotels in Anaheim.

Residence Inn by Marriott (Convention Center)

Number one was the Residence Inn by Marriott.

“The moment I walked into the lobby here, I realized, OK, I’m not doing the run-down hotel thing that most of Anaheim is dealing with,” she said.

Nuzzo said the rooms at the Residence Inn are probably her favorite in Anaheim. She said they are huge and have a full kitchen and separate living room.

“This is a place that has indeed just been completely renovated from top to bottom,” she explained. “Combine that with the included breakfast every morning and a good walk to Disneyland.”

Although the nightly rate is “slightly higher,” with prices on its website ranging from $280 to $600 per night, Nuzzo considers it its number one.
