Walt Disney World is reopening a popular attraction after major updates, including a name change for one of its most beloved characters.
The Country Bear Jamboree, a Magic Kingdom institution since 1971, closed its doors in January of this year for renovations.
The animatronic group of singing bears is being renamed the Country Bear Musical Jamboree and will return on Wednesday, but with one beloved character.
Liver Lips McGrowl, a slightly plump brown bear with pouty lips, was removed from the program over concerns his name was offensive, sources said. Within the magic.
The term ‘liver lips’ refers to swollen lips caused by excessive alcohol consumption and is also used as a racial slur.

His appearance is largely unchanged, but he has a cheerful mop of blond hair and a purple tie.
The revamped experience features a brand new script and score, featuring Disney songs performed by musicians including Mac McAnally, Allison Russel, Chris Thile and Emily Ann Roberts, according to Variety.
The new setlist includes a new original song of the same name written especially for the attraction.
Other songs include songs from new films such as Zootopia and Coco, as well as classics from The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book.

Disney has invested heavily in woke replacements for some of its most beloved themed attractions, including turning Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (pictured)
The only song left on the original setlist is “Come Again,” the closing number.
Disney has invested heavily in woke replacements for some of its most beloved themed attractions, after the company decided to cut them at the height of the George Floyd protests.
In 2020, the company ordered the demolition of the Splash Mountain water slide attractions, saying their references to the 1946 film Song of the South were “inappropriate in today’s world.”
Based on the 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure retains Splash Mountain’s log flume DNA but features music, scenery and animatronic characters inspired by “Princess” and set in 1920s New Orleans.
