Disney+ viewers are stunned to discover ‘maddening’  thriller was created by the minds behind popular axed Netflix show

Viewers are shocked to discover that a new Disney+ thriller has been created by the creators of a hit Netflix show.

Written by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, The OA had viewers on the edge of their seats throughout.

The Netflix series revolved around Praire Johnson (Brit Marling), who returns to reality after seven years of disappearance.

Praire eventually drops the bomb that she had actually been in another dimension, and assembles a small team in an attempt to help others who have gone missing.

Although fans were hooked – and there was even a third series in the works – many were shocked to discover that Netflix had put the series on the chopping block.

But the creators of the OA – Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij – have returned with a new Disney+ thriller A Murder at the End of the World (pictured Emma Corrin as Darby Hart)

Due to the unexpected nature of the draft, the show was left with a second season finale littered with unfinished storylines and a whole other dimension cracked open.

Despite the demise of The OA, the show’s creators returned with an all-new thriller series on Disney+, leaving fans begging for more.

A Murder at The End of the World features familiar faces including The Crown’s Emma Corrin and Brit Marling (Lee), as well as Clive Owen (Andy), Alice Braga (Sian) and Harris Dickinson (Bill).

Darby Hart (Emma Corrin) receives an invitation to a retreat in a remote location.

However, the trip quickly goes wrong after Darby becomes a “Gen Z amateur sleuth” and races to solve a murder before the killer strikes again.

Even though Disney+ has only launched four episodes of the show, audiences are already clearly impressed, as the series already has an incredible Rotten Tomatoes score of 97 percent.

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and labeled the thriller “the best show of the year.”

A second wrote: ‘Y’all, I’m obsessed with Darby & Bill about a murder at the end of the world.. OBSESSED’

TV lovers raved about the new show, and some were stunned to learn that the OA and the new murder mystery were in the same vein

“The butterflies you get just watching it are the reason I love A Murder At The End of The World,” another added.

Some even went so far as to say that Agatha Christie would have approved of the murder mystery’s “ingenious” denouement.

Another was shocked to hear that the OA was made by Brit and Zal, writing: “So just learned that the OA and A Murder at the End of The World were made by the same person and that makes so much sense that they are so ate poorly…Netflix…praying.”

Another said: ‘Between the OA and the murder at the end of the world, Brit Marling’s work really captivates me in a way that television hasn’t yet… in a way I thought only film could . Baby has style.”

Of the thriller’s most recent episode, someone else commented: ‘Just finished S1 E4 of A Murder at the End of the World… GREAT episode ending.

‘There’s a nice twist to it. I have to admit my jaw dropped when I heard it happen. Now we wait for next Tuesday. Good stuff.’

“I felt compelled to watch until the end: it’s beautifully acted (Owen is downright nerve-wracking),” another joked.

‘And the story, even though it is played at a maddening pace, is atmospheric and deeply intriguing.’

The show has only released four episodes so far, but viewers are begging for more, with the series already achieving a 97 percent Rotten Tomato Audience score
