Disney+ Reveals Premiere Date for Season Two of Welcome to Wrexham as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Return as Presenters

Disney+ has announced that season two of the reality series Welcome to Wrexham will be released on September 13 on the streaming giant.

The new season, again hosted by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, features a cameo from King Charles and follows the further adventures of the Red Dragons, an underdog Welsh football team.

Fans and critics alike raved about the inaugural season, which followed Rob and Ryan after buying the third oldest professional association team in the world and the oldest club in Wales.

Based in the working-class town of Wrexham, the Red Dragons suffered heartbreak in their first season as they tried to break into the big league.

For the past fourteen seasons, Wrexham have played in the National League, the lowest level of professional football in England.

Ryan and Rob originally teamed up to buy the Red Dragons in 2020, which the FX series documented in season one.

A preview of season two shows the club’s determination to make it to the English football league.

The struggling Red Dragons receive overwhelming support from a community determined to cheer them to victory.

And even King Charles appears to be a fan. At one point in the trailer, he can be seen visiting the club and shaking hands with the Hollywood stars.

Meanwhile, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob admits it’s a real risk to their investment as the stakes are even higher this time around.

“If the club does get promoted this year (to the big league), the club will be completely untenable,” he says during the trailer.

Last season, the Red Dragons saw big changes on and off the field, including several layoffs as Ryan and Rob took over the running of the Club.

Fans can look forward to emotional scenes as the small community copes with their newfound fame following the success of season one.
