Disney Lorcana's third set of cards is given the title To the Inklandsand will debut in local games stores starting February 23rd. Major retailers, such as Amazon and ShopDisney, will start selling them on March 8. In addition to new mechanisms, publisher Ravensburger also adds new characters, such as Scrooge McDuck The Scrooge McDuck series “Ducktales and Kit Cloudkicker from StorySpider.
In the inklands continues the meta-narrative started by Ravensburger when the game originally launched in August. At the launch of the first set, titled The first chapterit introduced the concept of using magical ink to bring beloved Disney characters to life. Then the second set, titled The rise of the Floodborn, revealed that a mysterious overabundance of said ink was leading to issues including super-powered characters in mysterious outfits. Now To the Inklandswith its Indiana Jones-inspired font, seems ready to explore the situation even further.
“Their search may be more treacherous than they realize,” Ravensburger said in a press release released Wednesday, “as an ominous shadow storm has been spotted gathering on the edges of Lorcana, adding urgency and mystery to the path ahead is.”
Wednesday's press release also mentions the new location maps coming to the game, “which feature beloved Disney story settings and offer players special abilities and interactions.” The first set of locations will include Motunui Moana and the Jolly Roger from Peter Pan among others that have yet to be announced. Each of them can open up new strategies, Ravensburger added, “some of which grant bonuses when characters visit them, while others offer benefits just by being in the game.”
In addition to the aforementioned headliners from the '90s Disney Afternoon cartoons, Disney Locana also adds Disney's Pluto and 101 dalmatiers Perdita, as well as characters like Jim Hawkins Treasure planet.
