Disney + drama The Clearing starring Teresa Palmer and Miranda Otto makes viewers shiver to the bone: ‘I’m literally on the edge of my seat’
The Disney+ thriller The Clearing dropped on the streaming giant on Wednesday and left quite an impression with fans.
Within minutes of airing, viewers were quick to praise stars Teresa Palmer, 27, and Miranda Otto, 55, with praise for their performances in the eight-part thriller.
The Clearing is a fictionalized account of the so-called ‘Doomsday Cult’ founded by Anne Hamilton-Byrne in the 1960s, and also featuring Guy Pearce.
“Oh dear, watching now and just the scenery alone,” one fan wrote.
‘Very cool! Just when I thought I’d only watch the first episode tonight, I now feel compelled to watch the second,” another viewer added.

Miranda Otto’s performance also received critical acclaim.
“My god, what a perfect performance,” one viewer commented, while another agreed: “Perfect acting!”
Miranda’s younger sister, Gracie Otto, 34, will direct the series alongside Australian actor and filmmaker Jeffrey Walker (Riot, Lambs of God.)

Other prominent cast members include Bump actress Claudia Karvan, Harrow star Anna Lise Phillips and Xavier Samuel, who received critical acclaim for his role in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
Logie award winner Hazeem Shammas (Safe Harbor) will also star in the drama alongside Mystery Road’s Mark Coles-Smith.
Fans can also look forward to seeing Australian acting legend Gary Sweet, Kate Mulvany from The Twelve and Alicia Gardiner from Offspring in starring roles.
