Walt Disney World has revamped the wait times for attractions in its theme parks, giving visitors more freedom to plan ahead.
Thanks to the latest update, visitors can now select their attractions in the park up to a week in advance. Previously, guests had no choice but to make their choice on the day of departure.
The park add-on, currently called Genie+, will be renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass effective July 24.
A multi-pass allows guests to select up to three attractions at one theme park in a day of adventure, while a single pass allows visitors to choose a time to visit individual attractions.
Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can select their attractions up to seven days in advance, for their entire stay of up to two weeks. Everyone else can use their passes up to three days in advance.

The Genie+ services will be renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass from July 24, and the individual Lightning Lanes will now be called Lightning Lane Single Pass.
The new name for the passes will take effect at both California and Florida theme parks.
However, Disneyland in the Golden State does not have access to the advanced features, meaning they can only select their attractions on the day itself.
Visitors can select time slots to go on major attractions such as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Space Mountain, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith, Slinky Dog Dash, the Tower of Terror and many more.
“Lightning Lane Passes combine features of our current services with the previously offered FastPass+ service. This gives guests the opportunity to plan ahead and not have to worry about planning their vacation,” House of Mouse said.
These early booking options allow guests to secure some of their favorite attractions and experiences after deciding what dining reservations they want to book and what other plans they may need to make.
‘The app is also being updated to make it quicker and easier to make a purchase and plan a trip. There are fewer steps involved and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.”
Prices for the passes vary by date, theme park and attraction. Starting July 24, visitors can view the new fees in the My Disney Experience app.
Disney announced in February that it would increase the prices of some tickets for 2025. The company wants to invest almost 2 billion dollars in the renovation of its amusement park in Anaheim.
The company announced plans to invest $60 billion in its parks and cruise lines over the next decade, according to an SEC filing last September.

As part of the investment, Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will undergo its “largest” expansion ever.
In January, Disney announced detailed plans for the renewal of the theme park in Anaheim, California. New attractions, shops and restaurants would be added to the existing 490-acre space.
If approved by Anaheim city leaders, the project could introduce new rides and attractions inspired by beloved Disney stories such as Frozen, Peter Pan, Tangled, Toy Story and Zootopia.
The $1.9 billion allocated will go toward “theme parks, attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants west of Disneyland Drive and in the Toy Story parking lot,” according to the Orange County Register.
