Disheveled Terminator 2 star Edward Furlong appears to have reunited with his Dawson’s Creek star ex

Terminator 2 star Edward Furlong looked worse when he was spotted leaving his LA apartment after Dawson’s Creek actress Monica Keena spent the night at his apartment.

More than a decade after she filed a restraining order against the former child actor, the on-off pair have seemingly reunited after a turbulent series of years.

Furlong, who rose to fame in 1991 after co-starring with Arnold Schwarzenegger at just 13 years old, looked disheveled and unkempt as he left Keena in his apartment to run errands.

Now, six years after his 2016 drug conviction, his last run-in with the law, Furlong appears to be reconnecting with his longtime love interest, two months after celebrating five years of sobriety.

Keena got a restraining order against the actor in 2013 after multiple allegations of domestic violence, which have continued to plague his attempts to land movie roles over the years.

But the pair appear to have reconnected when Keena was spotted at his apartment around 11am on Monday morning.

As the two spent the day indoors, Furlong was only seen throwing out rubbish and collecting his laundry.

After a short hour-long commute that evening, the one-time couple ventured out of Furlong’s LA apartment the next day, with Keena still wearing the same clothes as the night before.

After a successful acting career as a child, including a starring role in the Oscar-nominated film American History X, Furlong spiraled into a crippling meth and heroin addiction that led to multiple arrests.

After first entering rehab for his drug addiction in 2000, Furlong struggled through years of relapses that led to several scrapes with the law.

In April 2001, a 23-year-old Furlong was hospitalized with a suspected drug overdose while building his reputation as a Hollywood party animal.

This was followed by years of embarrassing arrests, including for a freak incident where he tried to free lobsters from a shop window.

After the birth of his son in 2006, years of adding problems continued.

A failed three-year marriage to actress Rachael Bella ended in 2009, when he was given a restraining order after allegedly punching her in the face in a drug-fueled rage.

His subsequent relationship with Dawson’s Creek starlet Monica Keena made headlines again after Furlong was arrested multiple times for alleged domestic violence.

He later got another restraining order against Keena, and after being arrested in 2013 on charges of domestic violence against her, Furlong seemingly hit rock bottom on his third arrest in four months.

Years of drug use had rotted his teeth, and striking images caused concern for years as the child star’s parentage became clear to all.

After decades of struggles, the actor turned his life around in recent times, revealing to DailyMail.com last year that he had relaunched his career as he celebrated his “second chance.”

“It feels great to be back on set and sober too,” he said.

“I wasn’t hungover when I went to work. There are other sober people working, which is weird because if you’re not sober, you don’t hang out with the other sober people. It was cool.’

Despite his teeth rotting due to years of drug abuse, the then 44-year-old admitted it took him some time to agree to “rip out” and replace his teeth.

“It sounds weird to me to talk about teeth because I don’t live and breathe the way I look, but every time I looked in the mirror it just kind of bummed me out as a reminder of what I’d been doing all these years,” he said .

“It’s nice to get a second chance. It was a no-brainer, I’m super glad I did it.’

Furlong took to Instagram last month to celebrate his return to work and posted footage from the premiere of his latest movie, horror flick Forest Hills.

The month before, he shared a poignant image of his five-year sober milestone, admitting he feared posting the image would “jinx” himself.

“From what I’ve seen, sobriety isn’t something you gain, it’s something you continuously fight for,” he continued in the post.

“But making it five years amazes me, especially as I had never made it a year before. If you struggle with sobriety, know that if I can get this far, anyone can.

“All you have to do is decide that you want to live and are willing to do anything to survive. Life can be really damn hard sometimes, but if you keep marching ahead to get to the best parts, it’s all worth fighting for. Do not give up.’

Speaking of being thrust into the spotlight unexpectedly after being cast as John Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991, Furlong said the role came as “a shock.”

“I don’t know if I ever fully recorded it. Picked it up out of the blue, just auditioned for it and before I knew it I did it. I was in the movie.

“Looking back on it, I think damn, that’s pretty crazy. When I was younger I was quite driven and it somehow manifested in my life.

“It was pretty awesome. I loved movies and I had seen Terminator but had no idea how it was made.

“I remember the first day like it was yesterday: getting up at four in the morning and hating life.”

Behind the instant success, Furlong said he always felt ‘I attracted everyone’ and was terrified that people would find out who he really was.’

“I’ve been through a lot of great things, but everything has a price, nothing is free,” he added.

“When I was younger, I didn’t have too many people looking out for me and I was left to my own devices. I didn’t know how to handle my money. If I had been older I wouldn’t have made so many bad decisions.’
