Disgusting reason Packers QB Malik Willis refused to throw ball after center Josh Myers’ gross pre-snap move

  • Malik Willis called a confusing audible foul on a play against the Colts
  • But coach Matt LaFleur explained the move after Sunday’s win

Packers quarterback Malik Willis refused to throw the ball during a one-third down play against the Colts on Sunday — and there’s a disgusting reason for it.

When faced with a third-and-10 at one point in the game, Willis ignored the call and instead took off.

And as Green Bay coach Matt LeFleur revealed after the game, Willis called the confusing audible after center Josh Myers threw up on the ball before the snap.

“I asked Malik why he didn’t throw the ball on that third down,” LaFleur began.

He told me that Josh [Myers] threw up on the ball. I thought, ‘That’s the first time I’ve heard that’… Malik probably didn’t appreciate that.’

LaFleur added that referee Shawn Hochuli also told him that Myers had thrown up on the ball.

Aside from Myers’ stomach acting up, it was a good day for Green Bay, which defeated the Colts 16-10.

Willis, who replaced the injured Jordan Love, didn’t have to throw much, but he completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.

The Packers relied heavily on their run game in the win, as they collected 261 rushing yards, including 151 for Josh Jacobs.

That will likely be the game plan for the coming weeks, as Love is reportedly targeting a Week 5 return, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Willis has only been with the Packers since being traded to Green Bay on August 26, and LaFleur gave him plenty of praise after the game.

“A lot was put on his plate,” he said told reporters.

“And the fact that he was able to do what he did today, I think, says a lot about who he is as a person and the work that he’s done. I’m just super proud of him.”
