Disgusting moment when it rains white WORMS in India: road remains covered in a ‘thick layer’ of insects after bizarre scenes like a biblical plague
- Footage that causes retching shows the critters spinning and falling to the ground
- The unidentified critters were seen carpeting as locals watched
This is the disgusting moment when thousands of white worms seemed to rain down from the sky and cover the road with a thick layer of insects.
The worms came down like confetti in a scene of biblical proportions that looked like it could have been one of Exodus’ Plagues of Egypt.
Retching footage shows the bugs swirling and floating to the ground in Bihar, an eastern Indian state bordering Nepal, on Tuesday.
The unidentified critters were seen lying on the road as disturbed locals watched one creature while others closed their doors in fear.
It’s still unknown what caused the spaghetti-like creatures to rain down, or where the worms came from.

Amid the disgusting scenes, many locals reportedly closed their storefronts in horror to protect themselves from the mini-worm infestation.
Local media reported that no one was injured after the horrific incident.
This isn’t the first time worm-like creatures have come raining down from the sky like a bizarre biblical plague.
In Norway, thousands of live earthworms fell from the sky in 2015, a rare phenomenon in large parts of the south of the country.
Reports came in from across the region following numerous sightings of worm rains.
Another incident in China’s Liaoning province in March appeared to show what appeared to be earthworms raining down from the sky.
Residents were then warned to carry umbrellas to protect themselves from the wobbling creatures.
Videos circulated online showing the alleged creepy crawlies covering cars and blanketing the streets.

Having racked up more than 18 million views online, eagle-eyed viewers pointed out that the “rain of worms” was more likely to show catkins or flower spikes of poplar trees in the region.
But China’s Liaoning province was also the subject of another biblical scene when a toad infestation was filmed swarming over a toad and making the ground appear to be moving.
The toads — all of them relatively small in size — hopped out of a nearby lake by the hundreds.
The short clip shows people trying to negotiate around the toads as they jump in all directions.
