Police have launched an investigation after a man suffered a broken jaw following scandalous scenes at a local football match.
Emergency services were called to Wentworth Park Oval in Glebe, New South Wales, at around 7.30pm on Monday after a 38-year-old man was allegedly attacked by two rival male players during a game of OzTag.
Footage of the alleged incident shows both attackers hitting the man from different angles at the same time. He was then kicked while lying on the ground.
The two men fled the scene before police arrived.
The alleged victim was treated by paramedics from NSW Ambulance before being taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

He is in a stable condition and was discharged with a broken jaw, according to Chris O’Keefe on 2GB.
Bill Harrigan, a former NRL referee and OzTag boss, said: ‘Much. I had to replay it a few times because it was terrible. It’s one of the worst I’ve seen.
‘Scandalous. That’s the only way to say it.
“I’ve spoken to the referee, I’ve spoken to the license holder of Wentworth Park Oz Tag, I’ve spoken to the police today. I also spoke to the victim. I was surprised when he answered the phone, he told me exactly what happened, it’s just a horrific turn of events.
“So what’s going to happen, the police are investigating now, detectives have it in their hands. I’m glad someone made a video of it so we can do something about it. Australia’s Oz Tag will never let these players play again.’

It is also alleged that the thug who kicked the man as he finished was armed with a knife.
“That is the accusation that has been made,” Harrigan confirmed. ‘Apparently that player was taunting some people by saying he had a knife and ‘do you want some?’
“Whatever happens with the police investigation, those guys won’t be playing Oz Tag again.”
