A former lawmaker jailed for rioting at the Capitol posted a photo of President Joe Biden and other Democrats lynched on a Christmas tree.
Derrick Evans resigned from the West Virginia House of Representatives in disgrace after he was arrested for livestreaming himself during the January 6, 2021 insurrection.
Despite admitting that he had shamed his family while serving three months in prison, Evans has since shown no remorse and run for Congress.
Evans posted the disturbing photo on Christmas morning, captioning it “Merry Christmas,” before deleting it hours later.

Biden, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Hilary Clinton and Biden's chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci were made into small decorations hung with nooses.
Worse still, figures representing Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama were also lynched during the shocking display.
A miniature of Donald Trump off to the side, not hanging from the neck, raised an arm in approval.
Evans deleted the post and changed his Twitter account, but not before it was copied hundreds of times on social media.
'I have said very clearly that I do NOT support violence. Merry Christmas, you filthy animals!' he wrote in another post, with a reference to Home Alone.
He continued in another post by insisting, “Not my tree. Not my ornaments. Not in good taste. NOT a call to violence.
'I should not have used a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus for something political (good or bad taste). This time, let us celebrate with our families in love and peace.”

Just three hours later, however, he continued his incessant political rants with his frequent claim that asylum seekers were “invading” the US.
“I hope everyone will take a few minutes this Christmas to remember the American families displaced by illegal aliens,” he wrote.
“Our southern border is literally being invaded.”
Evans claimed last week that immigrants were not fleeing deadly conflict and economic disaster, but were planning to take over the country by force.
'Millions of elderly soldiers did not come here for asylum. We must prepare for a possible war on American soil,” he wrote.
Another “bad taste” post from Evans on Christmas morning photoshopped a naked Hunter Biden with his genitals covered by a crack pipe into a photo of the president and first lady, captioned “Merry Christmas from the Biden's (sic).”
Evans spent three months in jail last year and calls himself a “political prisoner” for insisting the Capitol riot was legal.
“Today, please remember my fellow patriots of January 6th. “I'm glad I'm out of jail and home with my family, but others aren't so lucky,” he wrote on Monday.
'Prison is generally tough, but holidays are much harder. So many families are being harmed by this illegitimate Biden regime.”

Another message on Christmas Eve read: “I'm home with my family, instead of being held hostage as a peaceful political prisoner on January 6.”
“Trump was the president. It is impossible to 'revolt' against yourself.'
Evans spent the past year enjoying his fame despite being on probation until 2025, launching his candidacy for Congress on January 6, 2023.
He sang a noticeably different tune when he faced an even longer prison sentence in court last June.
'I will forever bear the memory that I made a crucial mistake. “I have failed myself, I have failed my community and most importantly, I have failed my family,” he told the court.
He expressed regret that prison would leave his three children “fatherless” for months.
Evans streamed his participation in the Capitol insurrection live on social media for an hour, shouting, “Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!”
“Guys, oh my god, I can't even explain what's happening right now, how amazing this is to see in person,” he said during the livestream.
'I'm impressed. The revolution has begun. The revolution has begun.'
Evans, wearing a Tolsia Rebels High School sweatsuit, was arrested by the FBI days after the riot
At another point he shouted, “We're taking this country back whether you like it or not!”
'Shame on you all! Listen to your liberal mayor instead of the Constitution… Patriots are not silent anymore.
“Patriots will no longer submit to tyranny! No more will patriots back down from stolen elections!”
In a now-deleted video shared widely online, Evans shouted into a crowded Capitol doorway, trying to force his way in with others.
He shouted along with other Trump loyalists and fist bumped a law enforcement officer who let them inside.
After entering the building, Evans walked around the Capitol Rotunda and begged others not to vandalize artwork and busts. Some pieces were later destroyed.
