Disenchanted trailer sees Amy Adams’ Giselle transform into the VILLAIN

>

She played the wide-eyed princess who ended her fairy tale in Enchanted 15 years ago.

Now Amy Adams is back in the role of Giselle in the upcoming sequel Disenchanted, but she’s happily learning that not all is as it seems.

The princess and her husband Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey) move from the Big Apple to the suburbs – where she turns into the villain after a fairytale life goes horribly wrong.

Not so happily ever after: Amy Adams’ character Giselle turns into villain after a fairytale wish goes horribly wrong in a new trailer for the upcoming Enchanted sequel, Disenchanted

The trailer opens with Giselle preparing to move out of New York City, where she laments, “I know change can be scary, but it can also be exciting! Let’s start our new life!’

The family moves to a charming house in the small town of Monroeville, where they are greeted by Prince Edward (James Marsden) and Nancy Tremaine (Idina Menzel), who magically appear in their backyard and give her an Andalasian wishing stick.

Despite being in a charming town, Giselle expresses her doubts about her new life.

“This world feels very different,” Giselle confides to Nancy. ‘Is it sometimes easier to live in Andalusia?’

Hi Monroeville! The family moves to the suburb of Monroeville

‘I wouldn’t say easier,’ replies Nancy. “We have dragons and rebel rebellions.”

“Last year the whole kingdom was trapped in a giant whale,” said Prince Edward.

Giselle isn’t the only one having trouble acclimating – her stepdaughter Rachel Convey also misses New York.

“This is not a magical land. It’s a country far, far away from my friends,’ she informs Giselle.

And the reality of suburban life soon begins to sink in for Robert.

While he’s on the commuter train on his way to New York, a fellow driver has a sombre message for him.

“You ride this train over and over and over and over and over and over and then you die,” a commuter tells him.

Giselle is also forced to contend with the town’s queen bee, Malvina Monroe, played by Maya Rudolph.

“As you can see Giselle, everyone has their place,” Malvina tells Giselle as a woman fans her with a card. “Once you find where you fit, Monroeville can be whatever you want it to be.”

All of this eventually leads to Giselle turning to the Andalasian wishing stick her friends had previously given her.

“I wish for a fairytale life,” she says.

Giselle’s wish comes true immediately and everything from her house to her appearance changes.

‘Jumping jelly sticks, we have magic!’ he says.

Magic: Everything changes because of her wish

Even Robert and Malvina transform, as her husband becomes a swordsman and the queen bee dons a crown and black dress.

But eventually the magic starts to fade.

“This town is turning into a fairytale,” Giselle remarks as flashes of destruction appear. “But it all went terribly wrong.”

A talking scroll informs Giselle, “On the last stroke of midnight nothing will be as it was.”

Indeed, everything, including Giselle, changes as she turns into an evil stepmother. Giants devastate Monroeville and chaos ensues in the town square.

She is shown locking her stepdaughter Rachel in a dilapidated room with boarded up windows.

‘What is going on?’ asks Rachel.

Uh-oh: It won’t be long before the spell’s magic fades

“You must remember your place here!” Giselle sternly tells her just before she leaves the room and closes the door.

“Stepmother, please,” Rachel says.

Fortunately, her friends see through the spell.

“Giselle is under a curse!” says Nancy. ‘We must stop this or everything will die Andalasia!’
