Dozens of dogs have been found in a ‘terrifyingly tragic state’ after investigators raided a ‘pseudo puppy farm’ in Poland following a tip from concerned local residents.

Inspectors from the Animal Welfare Society were called to the filthy kennels in the Środa Wielkopolska region, where they found sick and stinging puppies and their mothers covered in feces.

Others were ridden with parasites that “attacked their hearts and lungs.”

Left to their own devices, the dogs mustered what little strength they had left to welcome their rescuers, who took pictures of the scene.

More than 35 dogs have been found in a ‘terrifyingly tragic condition’ after researchers raided a ‘pseudo puppy farm’ in Poland following a tip-off from locals. Pictured: Two dogs are seen after rescuers arrive at the farm. On the left, a god can barely open his contaminated eyes. On the right, a black and right-wing bastard looks solemnly through cage bars

Their heartbreaking photos showed the canines crammed into small, damp, and dark metal cages to keep them locked up. The animals seemed unloved, unfed, unwashed and could barely open their infected eyes.

Some were in cages with several other dogs, and items that could be dangerous to animals – such as broken plastic boxes and metal chains – were scattered around.

A spokesperson for the Animal Welfare Society said the farm is a tragic example of what the “production” of cheap puppies looks like.

“The measure of a man is how he deals with those who are weaker than himself,” the spokesman said. ‘Today’s intervention has shown that man is capable of anything.

“Thirty-eight dogs of various ages were collected in a tragic condition – sick, bitten, female dogs exploited to the limit, smelly, braided, dewormed.”

Disturbing photos released by the researchers show a dog with an infected eye.

Another shows a scruffy black and white mongrel looking solemnly through cage bars, while another shows a ‘decaying’ mother dog lying on the ground, looking sadly into the camera.

Others show the appalling, excrement-filled conditions in which the animals were kept in the appalling kennels in the town near Poznan, in western Poland.

The association spokesman said: ‘The animals were filthy and you could tell they weren’t being fed. The owner of the pseudo-breeding farm didn’t even understand why we were there. This is what the “production” of cheap puppies looks like.

“Four puppies have been taken from their owners and placed in the care of vets.

“It turned out that some of them have internal parasites that are already affecting the heart and lungs.”

The owner of the kennel is now being investigated by the local police.

On social media, the Animal Welfare Society spokesperson said: “The most important thing now is to restore the health of the dogs.”
