Dirt bike-riding goon, Cody Heron, who stomped on mother’s car with her kids inside is arrested after floods of tips from the public

A man who was filmed smashing a woman’s rear window last weekend has been arrested, police have revealed – after members of the public tried to identify him using the now viral video.

The footage was filmed on Sunday and comes from Philly, and 6abc Philadelphia reports that it was 26-year-old Cody Heron who saw the rampage begin – hitting Nikki Bullock’s car before mounting and smashing the window in front of a crowd of other motorists.

Both of Bullock’s children, aged five and two, were in the car at the time – and the incident ended when the man, believed to be Heron, brandished a gun at the mother. No one stepped in to help.

Although no one was injured during the frantic encounter – which took place at a red light – the suspect managed to drive away unmolested, and outraged investigators across the country worked relentlessly to incriminate and shame the then-crook.

On Thursday, Philadelphia Police Department Assistant Commissioner Frank Vanore announced that these efforts were not in vain — saying a suspect had been apprehended thanks to an outpouring of feedback.

He wrote about the motorcyclist seen in the video – which is now being shared nationally: ‘Great tips from the public and excellent detective work.’

‘SIG & Major Crimes Detectives made an arrest last night in the assault/vandalism that occurred in the city center on Sunday involving the man on the motorcycle.’

The statement was sent just before 6:30 a.m. and assured the public: “There will be more to come.”

The announcement did not formally name the suspect as Heron, but law enforcement sources said so 6abc Philadelphia that he was the man picked up in connection with the case – a claim echoed in multiple analytical videos broadcast by citizens who searched social media accounts to identify the helmet-clad man.

The newspaper reported that Heron was arrested overnight on E. Stiles Street in the Frankford section of the city, about seven miles from where the motorcycle brawl — which resembled a scene from Mad Max — occurred Sunday night.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. at a heavy-traffic intersection near City Hall and began when a group of ATV and dirt bike riders converged on a red light, with the man, believed to be Heron, pulling Bullock’s red sedan out of the way.

During the stop, the pair – both still in their respective vehicles – began a dispute over changing lanes.

Speaking to NBC10, the mother — who has been praised as fearless for the way she handled the interaction — began when she changed lanes around the horde of bikers.

“They weren’t paying attention to the lanes,” she told the outlet in her first interview after the incident. ‘They just do whatever. So I turn into the lane and it just hits the side of the car.”

The pair continued sharing words, which led to the motorcyclist beginning to physically attack her car, climbing on top of the trunk and taking time to smash the rear window by jumping with both feet several times.

The brutal act – witnessed by countless other motorcyclists who refused to intervene – prompted Burke to get out of the car and confront the man head-on.

‘He jumped up here with both feet. He put his first foot down. It didn’t work, so then he thought… and went through with it,” she recalled of the now widely seen clip, which was captured by a surveillance camera.

Once confronted, the perpetrator believed to be Heron – whose social media suggests he also goes by the alias John Carroll – drops a gun that was being held at his waist, picks it up and points it at Burke.

Undeterred, the defiant mother still pushed forward, leading to them exchanging more words as the bike reversed.

While being approached, the suspect even headbutts the woman while still wearing his helmet.

Still unmoved, Bullock stood his ground and was even filmed pushing the motorcyclist off his bike as he tried to flee the scene.

She told FOX29 Philadelphia she was delivering orders for Uber Eats with her friend in the front seat when she was hit.

None of the adults were injured, but Bullock said she was really just concerned about the children’s well-being.

She added to NBC10, “I’m just grateful that my kids are doing well. There’s not a scratch on it. It was just the simple fact that I had kids in the car. To be honest, I just wanted to protect them.”

The attention seen online afterward drew almost immediate investigation from local police.

In a statement after the incident, officers shared stills from the then-circulating footage, which showed the suspect’s distinctive tattoos and helmet, which were later spotted by several online sleuths.

Police asked for the public’s help and were thrilled with the results Thursday. She thanked the public for a number of unspecified tips that led to the overnight arrest.

Not much is known about Heron, apart from a series of social media profiles that suggest he is a local motorist also called John Carroll.

Several separate Internet users have identified him as the perpetrator in recent days – a statement filed by police insiders with multiple outlets on Thursday.

It also remains unclear what he is accused of, as lawmakers in The City of Brotherly Love may want to charge him with attempted murder.
