Director Rob Reiner claims he’s unearthed PROOF that JFK was killed by FOUR shooters not one – and says the reason the first shot missed president’s motorcade is KEY to theory

Actor and film director Rob Reiner has claimed that four gunmen were involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and insists that the reason why the first missed bullet is key to his theory.

Kennedy was shot as his open-top motorcade rolled through Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, and he was pronounced dead after arriving at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Official investigation concluded that he was murdered by lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald from a sixth-floor window of the Texas School Book Depository.

But Reiner claims there were more people involved in the fatal Kennedy shooting, which he mentions in his 10-episode podcast entitled “Who Killed JFK?” recorded with journalist Soledad O’Brien.

He questioned reports that Oswald was solely responsible for the murder and believes the pair have finally solved the puzzle.

President John F Kennedy was shot as his open-top motorcade rolled through Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, and he was pronounced dead after arriving at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

The motorcade carrying the seriously injured president is seen driving toward Parkland Hospital as bodyguard Clint Hill pushes First Lady Jackie Kennedy back into her seat.

Reiner developed a fascination with the Kennedy assassination since hearing the news in high school, at the age of 16.

Some believe a single bullet passed through Kennedy’s neck before hitting Texas Governor John Connelly, who was sitting in the front seat of the car.

But the legitimacy of the single-bullet theory has been questioned.

Dallas resident Abraham Zapruder captured the moment Kennedy was shot on silent 8mm color film, but it was not widely available until March 1975.

“You watch the Zapruder movie over and over again,” Reiner told the paper Sun Sentinel newspaper.

‘And when you look at that, it really becomes clear. There’s no way a bullet could get through Kennedy and then stop for a while and wait to hit Connelly.

‘It’s all pointless. And Connelly himself also said to the day he died, “The bullet that hit Kennedy didn’t hit me.”

Reiner believes that with the help of O’Brien and author Dick Russell, he has worked out exactly what happened during the shooting.

“I have a lot of confidence in the conspiracy part,” he said. ‘I have 100% confidence in that. We will determine who exactly did what based on all the information we have.

‘We call the shooters. We mention the positions in which the shooters were located. Some people say there were four, others say five, and I’m still struggling with that. But based on the forensic investigation we know there were four.’

But he has yet to reveal the names of the shooters until the final episodes of the podcast, adding that more revelations will follow.

“We definitely say in the podcast that there was someone on the sixth floor,” the actor added. “And there were people, there was someone shooting from the sixth floor.

“I’m going to ask you this question: Why did the first shot miss?

‘That’s the key to what our theory is. That’s all I’m going to tell you. But the first shot missed. It missed the column completely.”

Reiner decided to start the podcast exploring the Kennedy assassination after he and his wife Michelle started listening to more podcasts.

“There were a lot that we were drawn to, and one was a podcast by Soledad O’Brien called ‘Murder on the Towpath,’” he said.

“So I started thinking, maybe a podcast is the best way to deal with it.

‘It’s something I’ve been following for sixty years, something new is always emerging.

“And what I wanted to do was try to find a way to bring it all together in one place, because when new revelations come out, people hear it, the press hears it, and they’re all like, ‘Oh!’ But they don’t put it into context with everything.

“It’s like a little piece of the puzzle coming out, and if you don’t follow it properly, you don’t know what that puzzle looked like.”

So far, three episodes of the podcast have been released by iHeartPodcasts, airing every Wednesday.

Reiner directed films such as When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men and The Story of Us.
