Top diplomat’s daughter was ‘sexually assaulted by Mohamed Al-Fayed on his yacht before being locked in a cabin for 36 HOURS’
A senior diplomat filed a complaint with the government after his daughter was sexually abused and imprisoned by Mohamed Al-Fayed on his yacht in the south of France.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that the disgraced billionaire, who died last year aged 94, is said to have locked the young woman in a hut for 36 hours after the attack, described by a source as one of the worst he has carried out.
It is understood the influential envoy’s high-level protest has dealt a major blow to the tycoon’s British citizenship hopes.
At the time – 1989 – Al-Fayed, an Egyptian, was faced with questions about his takeover of Harrods four years earlier.
A Department of Trade and Industry investigation had described him as ‘unreliable, untruthful and fake’.

In one of the worst attacks he carried out, Al-Fayed allegedly locked a young woman in the cabin of his yacht for 36 hours (pictured) after sexually assaulting her.
Alleged victim Lindsay Mason (centre) was told to see a doctor before working at Harrods and given an ‘invasive examination’
He was later accused of this in his long-running campaign for a British passport.
But sources say the attack on the yacht, first revealed today, also influenced the decision to reject his 1994 application, when John Major was prime minister.
Last week it emerged that Al-Fayed, an alleged serial predator, had been reported to Scotland Yard by at least 19 different women for rape, sexual assault and human trafficking.
The alleged crimes were recorded by police between 2005 and 2023, but none led to charges.
The Metropolitan Police has appealed for more victims to come forward and is investigating whether charges can be laid against others.
Many women interviewed for the BBC documentary Al-Fayed: Predator at Harrods said that when they started working for Al-Fayed they had to undergo medical examinations, including invasive sexual health tests.
Four female and two male doctors performed the tests. The MoS can reveal that Dr. Thomas Bozek, now 75, is still practicing. His then wife Alison Bozek worked for Al-Fayed at the time.
But it emerged on Friday that the General Medical Council (GMC) refused to investigate alleged medical malpractice at Harrods in 2017, saying too much time had passed and it was not ‘in the wider public interest’.
Lindsay Mason, now 55, was hired as a PA at Al-Fayed and was told to consult a doctor before starting work.
She told the MoS that Dr. Bozek “performed an invasive examination on me, without a chaperone.
‘In addition to a smear test and checks for sexually transmitted diseases, he also checked my ovaries. I didn’t receive any results – they went to Al-Fayed. I hope the GMC will launch an investigation.”
