Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for January, while Jurgen Klopp was given the management gong.
Jota has been in fine form since returning from injury at the end of December, scoring three goals and two assists last month.
The 27-year-old has put in an impressive performance in Mohamed Salah’s absence due to AFCON and injury and has been crucial in Liverpool’s title challenge.
The Reds currently sit top, two points ahead of both Man City and Arsenal, as they look to end Klopp’s tenure in perfect fashion.
In January, Liverpool won three out of three in the league, beating Newcastle, Bournemouth and Chelsea.

They scored four goals in each of their matches, with a combined score of twelve goals for and three against.
Meanwhile, Jota missed most of December due to a muscle injury, but returned from the bench against Burnley on Boxing Day and scored shortly after coming on.
He was introduced in the second half during the Reds’ 4–2 win over Newcastle on New Year’s Day, setting up Curtis Jones’ goal.
Jota then scored twice and added an assist in an impressive 4-0 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
He followed that up with a brilliant opening goal in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield, slotting the ball past Thiago Silva and Benoit Badiashile before finishing with aplomb.
Jota’s accolade comes amid an impressive season that has seen the Portuguese forward score 14 goals and provide three assists in 17 starts in all competitions.

In January, Jota also added a goal and an assist in the FA Cup matches against Arsenal and Norwich, keeping the Reds in contention in the four competitions in which they compete.
It is the first time he has ever won the award, while Klopp picked up the Manager of the Month award for the tenth time in his Liverpool career.
The German battled off competition from Mikel Arteta, Rob Edwards and Pep Guardiola to claim the prize.
Liverpool are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to West London to take on Brentford.
