- Dillian Whyte returned ‘adverse analytical findings’ in a pre-fight VADA drug test
- Due to this, Anthony Joshua vs Whyte has been canceled on August 12
- Whyte claims he is ‘completely innocent’ and will ‘prove it’
Dillian Whyte says he will prove his ‘innocence’ after returning ‘adverse analytical findings’ in a pre-fight drug test conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) ahead of his rematch with Anthony Joshua.
The fight has been canceled and Mail Sport understands that Matchroom Boxing is now looking for a new opponent for Joshua for the main event.
In a statement from Whyte, posted on his social media channels shortly after the news broke, ‘The Body Snatcher’ claimed he is ‘completely innocent’ and is ‘shocked and devastated’ by the findings.
“I am shocked and devastated by a report from VADA containing negative findings concerning me,” the statement read.
“I only heard it this morning and am still responding to it. I have also just seen the fight being canceled without having had any chance to prove my innocence before the decision was made.

“I can confirm beyond any doubt that I have not taken the drug reported, in this camp or at any point in my life.
“I am completely innocent and ask for the time to prove this without anyone jumping to conclusions or getting a lawsuit by the media.
“I insisted on 24/7 VADA testing for this fight, as I have done voluntarily and at my own expense for all my fights for many, many years.
“This is not the first time that I have been reported to have an adverse finding for a substance I have not used, and just like last time, I will once again prove myself completely innocent.
“In the meantime, I can only express my great disappointment to boxing fans, who will undoubtedly miss this great event.”
