A nutritionist has revealed she has uncovered the secret to shedding pounds without cutting out your favorite foods
On her Instagram account, Maddie detailed her favorite weight loss tips.
She first told people on the Internet to avoid tracking how much they eat.
‘Stop counting calories. If the thought of counting another calorie or point makes you scream, delete the apps. It’s okay to focus on habits instead,” she explained.
Maddie then revealed that instead of keeping track of how much you should eat, you should enjoy more.
She specifically advised people to ensure they have a well-balanced breakfast every morning.
The nutritionist added: ‘Eat breakfast. Like a real breakfast!! Coffee alone is not enough. Ideas: Overnight oats with berries + almonds, avocado toast with tofu scramble, chia pudding with strawberries, egg bites with grits.’
And while your morning meal is important, Maddie emphasized that what you eat for lunch and dinner also matters.
She explained that adding protein-rich foods to your meals can help you reach your weight loss goals faster.
Maddie added: ‘Aim for 20 grams of protein with MOST meals. Try adding protein-rich foods to your meals, such as lentils, edamame, tofu or eggs and salmon, if you enjoy eating animal foods.’

She also advised her more than 113,000 followers to make an effort to eat more vegetables – especially at lunch and dinner.
‘Add 1 or more vegetables to lunch and dinner. Sounds like a lot? Add a vegetable to dinner. Have you hit that yet? Aim for one to two cups of vegetables with lunch and dinner,” says the content creator.
Finally, the nutritionist explained that your mental health and mindset are crucial to shedding pounds.
She explained that before your body could let go of the extra weight, your mind had to let go of what no longer serves you.
‘Take out the mental trash A healthy lifestyle starts with a healthy mindset! Start by noticing the thoughts you say to yourself. It takes time and support can help,” she explained.
Maddie noted that dieting makes you “guess everything you eat,” adding that you’ll feel “more energetic” and “more confident” if you “eat more.”
