Die-hard Swiftie reveals how he got plucked out of the crowd and given Taylor Swift’s iconic bowler hat at her Melbourne show – and how you can do it too

A die-hard Swiftie has revealed how Taylor Swift gave him her iconic black ’22’ bowler hat at her show in Melbourne on Saturday night.

TikTok star Oliver Mills, 24, appeared on The Sunday Project and told the presenters that scoring the hat was a combination of luck and the fact she was a big fan of his channel.

‘I was in the right place at the right time. I’m not one to kiss and tell, she said she was a fan and thought I was funny so we’re just going to roll with that,” he explained.

“To be on stage and be so close to someone so kind and beautiful was absolutely incredible.”

During each of her Eras Tour shows, Taylor randomly picks someone from the audience to come on stage and receive her hat.

Another Swiftie also revealed her theory on how Taylor chooses which fan to give her hat to.

Michelle Hillier said she believes the star picks an overly enthusiastic fan at the start of each show.

“About five minutes before the show started, Swift came out and waved,” she said in a TikTok video.

‘There are rumors that Swift chooses who gets that hat. There was a little girl in my section and she danced up a storm and had the best time.

“About three songs later, security came to our section and started dancing, then turned to the little girl and asked who she was here with.

“She had a big smile on her face and told them to come with her. That girl looked just like the girl who received the hat.

“I suspect Swift will choose someone at the beginning of the show and then security will take him to meet her.”

Tens of thousands of Swifties returned to the MCG on Sunday for the third Australian show, with Taylor putting in another incredible performance for emotional fans.

Swift Mania will soon hit Sydney with the pop star performing across four shows from Friday, February 23 to Monday, February 26.
