Didn’t get a freebie? Influencer slams customer service at two top bridal boutiques in extraordinary rant and claims the environment was ‘hostile’

One of Australia’s top influencers has flattened two chic bridal boutiques after a failed shopping spree to find her dream wedding dress.

Em Davies, who announced her engagement to boyfriend Joel Gambin in March, was visiting SydneyThe posh suburb of Paddington visited several bridal shops late last month, but left empty-handed.

The 28-year-old expressed her frustration in a TikTok video on Friday, criticizing two boutiques for their poor customer service and “hostile” environment, but chose not to name the brands.

“It was just the biggest letdown. I’m like, not even dramatic guys. It just felt really hostile in both places we went to,” Em told the camera, admitting that she felt “pretty sad” after shopping.

“And I just think when you spend that much money on a dress, decent customer service would appreciate it,” she added.

Em admitted that she had a better experience at the first boutique compared to the second place she visited.

She then went on to make it clear she didn’t want to “drag anyone” by naming one of the brands, adding, “It’s just my experience, I’m sure a lot of other people who have gone there have had really good experiences.”

“I tried on twenty dresses or something in thirty minutes. For example, it wasn’t fun and I felt like… I didn’t really have much say in a lot of what was going on, and I… you know. I just had higher expectations,” she complained.

Some fans speculated that one of the stores in question was Steven Khalil, as she filmed herself leaving the storefront in a recent vlog documenting her shopping trip to Paddington.

However, it is very likely that she was referring to another boutique she visited during the same shopping trip.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that the shop in question was Steven Khalil.

Since the Daily Mail asked her for comment, Em has deleted her wedding dress shopping vlog and subsequent TikTok diatribe.

Em is certainly no stranger to controversy.

In August last year, the Perth star landed herself in hot water after she uploaded an image of a sealed ziplock bag containing a brownie while on her way to the airport to catch a flight to Bali.

“Are we going to regret eating this weed brownie on the way to the airport?” she wrote next to a “yes” or “no” poll.

The post was deleted a few minutes later, presumably when Davies realized it had been shared with her, more than 360,000 followers, rather than her close friends.

She also raised eyebrows in January 2020. She shared a prank video of herself on Instagram after a New Year’s Eve party, where she pretended to sniff a white powder with friends.

In the clip, you saw Em take a non-illegal substance from a small piece of paper to her nose guided by a small metal spoon.

The influencer was then seen smiling at the camera before saying, “Yeah guys!”
