Diddy’s life is ‘in danger’ in famous jail where inmates want to attack him, former warden says

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is “in danger” in his New York prison because other inmates are all too eager to attack the fallen hip-hop star, the prison’s former warden has said.

The 54-year-old was sent to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday after his request for bail was denied. His presence is not welcome, according to former MDC director Cameron Lindsay.

Lindsay said TMZ that some of the most violent inmates even considered killing Combs a “badge of honor.”

Fortunately for Combs, he is staying in the prison’s special housing unit while he waits for his human trafficking case to go to trial.

But his life at MDC will be far from comfortable.

Every aspect of his life will be monitored, Lindsay explained.

His isolation from other inmates does not mean he gets special treatment. Like everyone else, Combs will wake up at 6 a.m. with only one hour of recreation time each day.

He is allowed to shower three times a week and only receives occasional visits from friends and family.

Every day, Combs must clean his cell, make his bed, and mop the floor. His meals consist of a strict 1,800-calorie diet.

The food won’t be particularly fresh, as it’s kept in a warming box so he can eat it separately from his fellow prisoners.

The Metropolitan Detention Center is known for drugs, murders, suicides and unsanitary conditions

The disgraced rapper previously pleaded with the judge to release him on Wednesday following his arrest on Monday.

In a feeble attempt to make bail, Combs promised the judge he would have minimal female visitors to his Miami Beach home despite the “cheating” allegations.

He also offered his own house and that of his mother and a $50 million bond. But his desperate efforts yielded nothing.

Combs isn’t the first celebrity inmate to visit MDC. R. Kelly, Ghislaine Maxwell and Michael Cohen are just a few of the notables the prison has seen.

MDC, the only federal prison in New York City, is notorious for violence, harsh conditions, and drug trafficking. In 2021, the MDC facility in Manhattan was closed.

Sometimes called ‘hell on earth’, it has been plagued by murders and suicides since it opened in 1994.

Combs’ attorney discussed the horrors that occur in prison, stating that “several courts in this district have recognized that the conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center are not appropriate for pretrial detention.”

They also said that at least four prisoners have committed suicide in the past three years.

“Just this summer, an inmate was murdered,” the hip-hop mogul’s lawyers wrote, according to the The daily beast.

The lawyers also alleged that inmates found cockroaches in their food and mold in the showers.

In 2019, a fire left parts of the prison without power and heating, forcing prisoners to live in extreme conditions.

Deirdre von Dornum, who leads the Federal Defenders’ Brooklyn team, said inmates were “covering themselves from head to toe in towels and blankets” to warm up.

The MDC is the only federal prison in New York City and has been criticized for its conditions since it opened.

Combs begged his judge to release him on bail, but his efforts were in vain as he was sent to MDC

People protested and gathered in front of the MDC, as demonstrators banged on the walls and flashed night lights calling for help.

A $10 million class action lawsuit stemming from the incident was settled last year, the law firm that represented the clients.

But circumstances have not improved.

Combs was denied bail on sex trafficking and racketeering charges after landing in New York City to cooperate with prosecutors.

He denied all the allegations made against him.

Combs was arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering charges after being accused of having “freak-offs,” keeping weapons and beating women

Combs is accused of forcing people to have sex with each other, stockpiling weapons and beating other women besides his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, promises to appeal the decision to jail Combs.

He said, ‘Mr. Combs is a fighter – he’s going to fight this to the end. He’s innocent. He came to New York to prove his innocence. He’s not afraid – he’s not afraid of the charges.

“He’s been looking to clear his name and he’s going to clear his name. We believe in him with all our hearts. He didn’t do these things.”
