Did Taylor Swift’s ex Matty Healy get Oasis back together? Video resurfaces showing The 1975 singer telling warring brothers to ‘grow up and headline Glastonbury’ amid their feud

Videos have surfaced of Taylor Swift’s ex Matty Healy telling Liam and Noel Gallagher to get back together, suggesting an Oasis reunion is now a definite possibility.

The 35-year-old singer from 1975 told CBC News in February 2023 that the former bandmates “needed to grow up and headline Glastonbury.”

After Matty spoke out about the reunion, he and 57-year-old Noel came to blows themselves, with the two exchanging heated words about each other’s music.

Over the weekend, Oasis fueled speculation that brothers Liam and Noel would be reuniting for a long-awaited comeback, despite their well-documented estrangement from each other.

Fans are excited about new reports that the duo are planning to bury the hatchet ahead of their headline performances at Glastonbury next summer and ten dates at Wembley in 2025.

And now the Matty video has resurfaced, and it looks like a reunion is finally in the works. Fans are speculating whether the clip was the straw that “embarrassed” the band and caused them to get back together.

Matty said in the clip: ‘What do Oasis do? Can you imagine being in the potentially coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a mard with your brother?

“I can deal with them dressing like they’re in their 20s and they’re in their 50s but acting like they’re in their 20s… They need to grow up! Stop marching!”

‘They’re men of the people, and they’re sitting around Little Venice and Highgate, crying about a row with their brother. Grow up! Head Glastonbury!

“There’s not a single person who goes to a High Flying Birds concert or a Liam Gallagher concert who wouldn’t rather go to an Oasis concert. Do me a favour, get yourselves together and stop messing around – that’s my public service announcement for today.”

Noel was unhappy with Matty’s involvement in the Oasis debate in his CBC interview and it led to a feud.

In response to the interview, Noel called the 1975 frontman a “limp prick.”

The Don’t Look Back In Anger singer continued: “He could never imagine it. He needs to get over how shit his band is and break up.”

Last June, Matty said on stage at a gig in Dublin: ‘Noel Gallagher called me a wimp.

“I love Noel Gallagher. We asked Liam to be open and he said he would but he was busy.”

‘I love Noel Gallagher. Give it up for Noel Gallagher.

Matty continued with a laugh, saying, “The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews.”

“But we love you Noel, get Oasis back together.”

Matty’s clip on CBC News is making the rounds again on X, after reunion rumors surged over the weekend.

This came after Liam dedicated Oasis’ song Half The World Away to his estranged brother Noel during his headline performance at Reading Festival on Sunday night, after burying the hatchet during a late-night phone call.

Earlier in the day, the Manchester rocker had speculated that he might reunite with Noel for a long-awaited Oasis comeback, despite their well-documented estrangement.

Fans are urging the pair to get back together following their explosive 2009 split after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

During his headline performance in Reading on Sunday night, Liam, 51, performed a number of Oasis hits from their 30th anniversary debut album Definitely Maybe.

Introducing Half The World Away, a 1994 B-side that also served as the theme song for the sitcom The Royle Family, he told the revellers: ‘I want to dedicate this song to Noel f**king Gallagher.’

Liam continued to keep fans guessing by dedicating his version of Cigarettes & Alcohol at Reading Festival to people who hate Oasis.

The song, written by his older brother, was the final single from their 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe.

As he closed the set, Liam suggested they make an announcement at 8am on Tuesday. A short clip of a sign in the style of the Oasis logo was projected onto a large screen above the stage and subsequently shared to Oasis, Noel and Liam’s official Instagram and X accounts.

The white rectangular box with a black block in the middle had the date “27.08.24” written in the middle where the band’s name is usually seen. It then flashed and changed to “8am”.

A source said The Sun: ‘Noel and Liam will never be best friends, but they want to bring Oasis back for the fans.

“They’re not getting any younger and the demand is huge. They decided it was now or never. Noel dug his heels in for a long time but eventually caved and agreed to come back.

“He spoke to Liam on the phone and they’re on the same page. They know this reunion is going to go down in music history.”

Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, chairman of talent agency InterTalent, told The Sun they could make more than £400million from the tour and any remaining deals.

He said: ‘With tickets, sponsorship, merchandise and filming, I predict an income for Noel and Liam of over £50 million each. This is a tour that could easily gross over £400 million.’

Oasis are reportedly getting £50 million to reunite and embark on a world tour. Liam appears to confirm the reunion.

The staggering sum is said to have convinced feuding brothers Noel, 57, and Liam to bury the hatchet, 15 years after they last shared the stage together.

Their troubled relationship reached a head in 2009, after a backstage altercation in Paris led to Noel leaving the band.

In recent years, Liam has wanted to make amends with his brother and revive the iconic Britpop band, but his older brother was having none of it.

But after Noel divorced ex-wife Sara MacDonald for £20million last year, the elder Gallagher is said to be convinced it would make financial sense to get the band back together for gigs at Glastonbury and Wembley Stadium.

It is expected to be the most popular tour in British concert history, with industry insiders saying the brothers’ deal will net them £50 million.

Liam sparked outrage among Oasis fans when he confirmed that the Don’t Look Back In Anger singers would be touring the country next year.

When Liam was asked on X, formerly Twitter, about the planned Oasis shows, he wrote: ‘See you in the front row’.

He later told his 3.6 million followers on the platform: ‘I never liked that word FORMER’.
