Did Prince William pay tribute to Harry in his slick Coronation video?

Royal fans have seen what they believe is a sign there is still hope for Prince Harry and Prince William’s fractured relationship in footage posted to the Prince of Wales’s YouTube account.

In a slick video made for the Prince and Princess of Wales, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at the coronation weekend, viewers take a peek inside the Welsh living quarters at Kensington Palace.

A clip shows Princess Charlotte, eight, running excitedly into the living room as she darts past the piano, which has several photos on it.

And one of the photos is a poignant nod to Prince William’s brother and late mother, as all three can be seen together.

The black-and-white photo, which shows the young brothers hugging Princess Diana, was on the cover of her 1995 Christmas card to friends and family.

As Diana beams in the center of the picture, William rests his head on one side of her shoulder. On the other hand, Harry does the same and puts his arm around his mother.

The Mirror reports eagle-eyed royal fans on TikTok who saw the photo, which features prominently on the piano, and thought it represented the important place Prince Harry still holds in Prince William’s life despite their increasingly strained relationship.

After a clip was posted to the platform, one royal fan commented, “I really wish Harry and William could get together. Diana would be devastated.’

A rift erupted between the embattled brothers in 2020 when Pince Harry, 38, moved to California with Meghan Markle, 41, and stepped down as senior royals.

Since the move, the siblings have barely spoken, with the Duke of Sussex’s memoir Spare, plus his £88 million Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan sharing his side of the story about their strained relationship behind the scenes.

In the six-part docuseries, which came out last December, Harry claimed his older brother lost his temper during crisis talks about the Duke’s future position within the royal family.

He said it was “terrifying to have my brother yell and yell at me and my dad saying things that just weren’t true and my grandma sitting there quietly and kind of taking it all in” as the family gathered around the table at Sandringham to discuss Harry’s ‘half in, half out’ proposal.

When Spare was published in January, Harry also wrote about a shocking physical altercation he says took place between the brothers at Frogmore Cottage, following a dispute over Meghan.

The Duke claimed his brother called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive” and insisted he tried to help his younger brother during a meeting about “the whole ongoing catastrophe” of their failing relationship and Harry’s spats with the press .

Harry then accused his brother of “talking back the press story” about his American wife before a shouting match ensued, which ended in a physical altercation, the book claims. He says he gave the heir to the throne a glass of water and said, “Willy, I can’t talk to you when you’re like this.”

Describing what he claimed happened next, the former soldier insisted he was scared: “He went into the water, called me another name, then came over to me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripped my chain and knocked me to the ground.

“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which burst under my back, cutting the pieces into me. I lay there dazed for a moment, then got up and told him to get out.’

Since the brothers first strayed in 2020, one thing known to bring them together is the legacy of their late mother Diana, who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

In July 2021, they reunited to unveil a statue in memory of their mother, which they jointly commissioned.

In what was seen by many as a show of unity, the brothers released a joint statement later that day paying tribute to Princess Diana.

It read: “Each day we wish she were still with us, and we hope that this image will forever be seen as a symbol of her life and her legacy.”

“Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world and changed countless lives for the better.”
