Bunning’s jingle is a tune beloved by many Australians, and may have inspired a worldwide hit, according to a Sydney musician.
DJ Milku, whose real name is Miles Elkington, has revealed the stark similarities between the iconic jingle song and the 2014 smash hit Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
In a now-viral TikTok clip, Milku remixes the two songs to show the resemblance, much to the delight of Australian fans.
“Jessie J’s bang bang and this Australian jingle sound exactly the same,” he said.
“And I just shredded them and 100% tested it.”
He proceeded to play the opening lines of Bang Bang before introducing the jingle.
Darwin-born Milku later sang ‘Bunnings Warehouse’ topping the charts.
“This is the best content I’ve seen on TikTok this year!” wrote a fan.

Mr. Hilton appeared on ABC’s Gruen on 202 (pictured) and explained exactly how he composed the jingle, from which he still receives royalties to this day.

The Bunnings jingle was created in 1995 by freelance songwriter and audio engineer Trevor Hilton of Busselton, Western Australia.
It has been used in most Bunnings Warehouse advertisements since 1995 and is as iconic to the franchise as its popular sizzling sausage.
In recent years, it has become popular on TikTok, with rappers using it as a beat and guitarists covering the melody.
Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj had huge success with the Grammy-nominated Bang Bang, which peaked at number one in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
