Dexter is BACK (again)! Showtime CONFIRMS the prequel series Origins AND the new season of New Blood

Dexter will return for two new series that follow the serial killer’s early years and depict his son Harrison’s journey with his own Dark Passenger, Showtime confirmed Monday.

Dexter: Origins, which went straight to series, will follow Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall in eight seasons and the reboot of Dexter: New Blood) as he graduates from college and joins the Miami Metropolitan Police Department. , while becoming a serial killer. .

Showtime’s official synopsis for Dexter: Origins reads: “It will dramatize the young Dexter Morgan at the beginning of his transition to the avenging serial killer he would become.”

“Set in the Miami that was a hotbed for true serial killers of its time, the show will begin as Dexter graduates from college to join Miami Metro, where he meets younger versions of many of the characters we met in the original Dexter. .

There is no information yet on who will play young Dexter. In the series, Deb was played by Jennifer Carpenter and Harry by James Remar.

The series starred Hall as a blood spatter analyst and deadly psychopath with a taste for murder, but with enough self-control and a supportive father figure to teach him to save his need to kill for those who had murdered others.

Showtime is also developing a new series of the hit 2021 reboot, Dexter: New Blood, which saw Hall reprise his role after the disastrous season eight finale, with Jack Alcott playing his estranged son Harrison.
