Mintrocket, the studio behind it Dave the diver and the upcoming zombie survival game Nakwon: Last paradisehas announced the name of its mysterious sci-fi team battle game, formerly known as ProjectTB.
Announced today, ProjectTB has been revealed as the game Wakerunners. A new trailer shows off the fast-paced in-game action players can look forward to, as well as the cast of characters they can play as. You can look below.
A press release describes Wakerunners as “a 4v4 and 5v5 action game set in a dystopian sci-fi future.” Earth has been destroyed and is now the setting for battles between ‘surviving factions’. As seen in the trailer, players will have to quickly navigate through combat arenas to effectively defeat their enemies, utilizing “a unique acceleration and deceleration mechanic.”
Additionally, each playable character has a unique combat style, with different abilities to experiment with. Players can freely switch between the two during battles, which will help keep the battles spicy.
If you are at all interested Wakerunners, then you’re in luck almost immediately, as it’s also been confirmed that a free demo will be available to download and play during Steam Next Fest 2024 (which kicks off on February 5 and runs until February 12). There are several game modes to try out, not to mention seven playable characters to switch between. On February 5, players can jump into the action from 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT / 6:00 PM GMT (that’s February 6 at 5:00 AM AEDT).
It has also not yet been confirmed when exactly we can expect the full launch Wakerunners, but it’s definitely one to keep an eye on.
